Savage was drafted 114th overall by the Red Wings at the 2021 NHL Draft on Saturday.

ANALYSIS
A real throwback in the way that he plays, Savage has a clear path to future NHL value. He excels on the penalty kill and in a defensive role, in addition to being one of the draft's best faceoff men. While it may not come with much offensive attached, Savage has a chance to fill a serviceable role for Detroit with just minimal improvements to his game. His father Brian played nearly 700 NHL games, most with Canadiens. Savage, who served as Team USA's captain at the World U18's, is committed to Miami (Ohio) University.
