Loma Lookboonmee

Belbita up next
June 22, 2022
Lookboonmee will fight Diana Belbita in a strawweight fight at a UFC event on September 17, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
Lookboonmee stands six inches shorter than Belbita, while also facing a six-inch reach disadvantage. Lookboonmee enters the fight coming off a loss to Lupita Godinez. Belbita is just 1-3 in her UFC career thus far, also entering off a loss. Both fighters prefer to stay on their feet, though Lookboonmee attempts more takedowns per 15 minutes and may use her takedown skills to make up for the reach.

Drops decision in Vegas
November 20, 2021
Lookboonmee lost to Loopy Godinez via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
This fight was a tad closer than the scorecards would lead you to believe, but the result was quite clear from the start. Lookboonmee had all sorts of difficulty with the physicality and wrestling game of Godinez. She allowed five successful takedowns for more than seven minutes worth of control time, although Loma wasn't in a ton of trouble on the mat. Still, every second she spent on her back was one in which she couldn't generate offense of her own. Although Lookboonmee is just 25 years old, she has little power in her hands and has displayed no real ground game to date. The odds are against her going on any sort of run despite her youth.
Gets new challenger
November 10, 2021
Lookboonmee will now take on Loopy Godniez in a strawweight bout at the UFC even Nov. 20, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Lookboonmee's original opponent, Cheyanne Buys, was forced to withdraw. Lookboonmee has won her last two bouts, most recently to Sam Hughes back in May. Godinez is coming off a win and a loss just seven days apart back in October.
Facing Cheyenne Buys
August 24, 2021
Lookboonmee will take on Cheyenne Buys in a strawweight fight in Las Vegas on Nov. 20, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Lookboonmee will be looking to stretch her winning streak to three, having defeated Jinh Yu Frey and Sam Hughes in her last two fights, both by unanimous decision. Her opponent, Buys, is coming off a first-round TKO victory over Gloria de Paula in her most recent trip to the Octagon.
Takes decision from Sam Hughes
May 1, 2021
Lookboonmee defeated Sam Hughes via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Lookboonmee won quite easily despite not looking the part of a -400 favorite -- the biggest on the entire card. Blessed with a significant edge in terms of grappling skill and body control, Lookboonmee managed to land four successful takedowns on the larger Hughes over the course of the first two rounds. She also connected on the more effective strikes despite the overall striking numbers being close. Lookboonmee's biggest issue was the fact Hughes kept her pinned against the cage for extended periods of time. That's an issue to keep an eye on moving forward considering Lookboonmee checks in at just 5-foot-1. She has now won two in a row and three of her first four UFC bouts, with each one going to a decision.
