No-shows UFC 274 loss
StrawweightUFC
May 7, 2022
Carnelossi lost to Lupita Godinez via unanimous decision (27-30, 26-30, 26-30) at UFC 274 on Saturday in Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
It's extremely difficult to last the entire 15 minutes and look as bad as Carnelossi did in this one. To say she had nothing for Godinez would be a massive understatement. Carnelossi submitted Istela Nunes in her most recent bout last October on the strength of some strong mat work, but the script was flipped here as Godinez landed all eight of her takedown attempts, good for 13:26 worth of control time. This was a such a bad performance that any good will Carnelossi had built up with victories in her prior two fights has completely evaporated.

Carnelossi will take on Lupita Godinez in a strawweight bout at the UFC event May 7, Team Iridium Sports Agency reports.
ANALYSIS
Carnelossi is coming off a submission victory over Istela Nunes back in October. That came after she underwent surgery for a slipped disc in her back back in April. Godinez last fought to a victory back in November on short notice.
Uses ground game to secure win
StrawweightUFC
October 16, 2021
Carnelossi defeated Istela Nunes via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:57 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Carnelossi had a big third round and it was needed, as she was behind on one scorecard and tied on the other two entering the final frame. Carnelossi had some issues on the feet in this fight, but her grappling was the great equalizer. She landed 5-of-7 takedowns attempts, good for 7:04 worth of control time. They are both massive numbers for a bout which lasted less than 13 minutes. The Brazilian has been known as a stand-up fighter throughout the course of her career, so it was nice to see her showcase some different skills in order to secure the win in this one. Carnelossi has now won two straight since being knocked out by Angela Hill in her company debut in September 2019.
