Dantas signed a two-year, $197,100 contract with the Fever on Thursday, TheNextHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Dantas has spent most of her WNBA career in Minnesota, but she was waived by the Lynx ahead of the 2023 season and didn't land another contract. She's generated decent production in Minnesota over her past four WNBA seasons, averaging 8.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 23.4 minutes per game while serving mainly as a starter. Dantas has played well in Turkey this winter, averaging 19.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 33.5 minutes per game while shooting 44.5 percent from beyond the arc for Ormanspor. The 31-year-old will need to settle for a backup role behind Aliyah Boston in Indiana, but Dantas has proven to have the talent to be a solid contributor off the bench when needed.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Dantas regressed in 2022 in terms of workload (17.5 minutes per game), output (5.1 points, 3.8 rebounds per game) and efficiency (30.4 percent from the field, 26.2 percent from three - both career-low marks). She competed for a frontcourt role behind Napheesa Collier - who missed most of 2022 following a pregnancy - to replace the now-retired Sylvia Fowles in Minnesota, but she missed out on a spot on the team's final roster. Dantas missed all but 15 games last year due to injury and personal reasons. She hasn't appeared in more than 26 contests over the last five seasons, so availability is something to factor into her fantasy equation and potential fit as she seeks out a new team. When healthy, Dantas has produced, finishing in the top 35 in per-game production in 2019 and 2020, thanks to healthy scoring numbers and shooting percentages in her first two years with Minnesota. Dantas had what was largely a lost season in 2022, and her fantasy relevance in 2023 will depend on if she ends up with another team and where.
Dantas missed the final month of the 2021 campaign due to a stress fracture in her right foot, and she was held off the Brazilian Pre-World Cup team in mid-February while she continued to recover. Assuming she's healthy to begin the 2022 season, she should be in line for an increased role with Napheesa Collier slated to miss significant time as she prepares for the birth of her first child. Dantas has started all but four games during her first three seasons with the Lynx, but she shot just 37.7 percent from the floor last year while averaging 7.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 23.8 minutes per game. Crystal Dangerfield could also be in the mix for a starting role while Collier sits, but Dantas may have the inside track. Either way, Dantas stands to increase her production if she can improve her efficiency in 2022.
