DraftKings MLB: Saturday Picks

DraftKings MLB: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings MLB series.

PITCHER

Dylan Bundy, BAL vs. CWS ($8,400): Bundy is young but he's an easy guy to like in fantasy, reaching six innings in every start this season. It'd be a surprise if he didn't go seven against the White Sox on Saturday, as Chicago is last in MLB with a .270 wOBA and 25.0 percent K rate against righties.

Amir Garrett, CIN vs. SF ($7,100): Outside of getting shelled at Milwaukee a couple starts ago, Garrett has been solid this season with a 21.3 percent K rate and at least six innings pitched in all but one of his starts. Those numbers can continue against the Giants, who are one of the worst teams against lefties with a .283 wOBA.

CATCHER

Caleb Joseph, BAL vs. CWS ($2,700): With Welington Castillo injured, Joseph has taken over full-time duties for the past week and his price is the main reason to use him. While he hasn't supplied incredible numbers, he'll face Dylan Covey, who hasn't shown much in the early going with a .530 wOBA allowed to go with 11 earned runs and nine walks in 7.2 innings pitched against righties.

FIRST BASE

Mark Reynolds, COL vs. ARI ($4,600): Reynolds has been better against righties this season, but that may not matter here. He has a .328 wOBA against lefties, which should help against Patrick Corbin, who has struggled against righties allowing a .326 wOBA and 4.59 xFIP.

SECOND BASE

Daniel Murphy, WAS at PHI ($4,600): I usually don't spend this much on second base but it's hard to pass up Murphy, who's been one of the early instigators for the Nationals with a .403 wOBA against righties. Vince Velazquez has been mediocre this season with a .384 wOBA allowed against lefties.

THIRD BASE

Kris Bryant, CHC vs. NYY ($5,000): Nolan Arenado ($5,200) and Jake Lamb ($5,100) are sitting at a higher price but aren't worth it compared to Bryant, who has nine hits in his last four games to go with a .633 wOBA against lefties. On the mound, Jordan Montgomery hasn't made it past six innings and is allowing a steady .333 wOBA against righties.

SHORTSTOP

Addison Russell, CHC vs. NYY ($3,700): Montgomery hasn't done many convincing things against righties this season outside of a decent K rate (22.6 percent). Russell doesn't strike out much (16.7 percent K rate) and his .357 wOBA against lefties is good enough to back him in what is expected to be one of the higher scoring games of the day according to the odds.

OUTFIELD

Chris Owings, ARI at COL ($4,600): Owings is priced higher than usual, but should be worth it. To go with the game being played at Coors Field, he has a .406 wOBA and .216 ISO against lefties. Tyler Anderson doesn't scream confidence, giving up six runs last time out to go with a 4.67 xFIP in the early season.

Nelson Cruz, SEA vs. TEX ($4,200): Cruz hasn't seen many lefties this season (16 at-bats), but this matchup should boost his stats. He has a .403 wOBA this season, which is right around last season's .419. Throw in the struggles that Martin Perez has come across – allowing 11 runs in his last three starts – and Cruz makes plenty of sense.

Seth Smith, BAL vs. CWS ($3,700): Smith is only used against righties and this is a prime matchup due to his .400 wOBA. Covey hasn't been good against either side of the plate, allowing 16 runs in his last three starts with a .329 wOBA allowed against lefties.
