FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

GUARDS

Kyrie Irving, BOS vs. PHX ($9,200): Irving has been going off recently and he's tough to avoid in a matchup like this. It's actually the best matchup in basketball, with the Suns ranking first in pace and dead-last in defensive efficiency. That's further exemplified by the fact that the Suns are allowing the most fantasy points in the league to opposing point guards. All that is enough incentive to use a stud like Irving, but the fact that he's scored at least 36 fantasy points in nine of his last 11 games just adds to his intrigue.

Lou Williams, LAC at DAL ($8,000): With so many injuries on this Clippers roster, Williams is in full takeover mode. Not only is he starting, but he's playing nearly 40 minutes per game, while posting a monster usage rate.Williams has a usage approaching 30 percent since Patrick Beverley and Blake Griffin went down, and he's handling the ball more than ever in his career. Not to mention, he faces a Dallas defense that's allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards.

Devin Booker, PHX at BOS ($6,500): This is hardly a cheap option, but it's an incredible value for a talent like Booker. While the matchup against Boston is tough on the surface, Booker actually had the best game of his career in this building last season. In fact, Booker collected 70 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals en route to nearly 100 fantasy points. While he won't duplicate that, it's a stat line that can't be overlooked when he's already seen a price drop.

FORWARDS

Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL vs. SAC ($12,400): The forwards on this slate are hard to trust, so Antetokounmpo makes for a nice, safe pivot. The 56 fantasy points per game is enough reason to use him at any price, but the fact that he gets a supreme matchup just makes him all the more attractive. Sacramento have the third-worst defensive efficiency in the NBA, and Antetokounmpo averaged nearly 60 fantasy points per game against them last season. It's the simple case of the Kings having no one who can match up with him, as they have one of the weakest wing rotations in the league.

Jayson Tatum, BOS vs. PHX ($5,900): While Tatum's play has been a bit inconsistent over recent weeks, he's still a nice value in such a tasty matchup. Phoenix ranks dead-last in total defense and first in pace, and they also allow the third-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards for the year.

Al-Farouq Aminu, POR vs. NOP ($4,300): Aminu saw a major price drop due to the fact that he's been injured for the last month, but that fact now makes him a great value. The Blazers need him as a defender to match up with either Anthony Davis or DeMarcus Cousins, and his 25 fantasy points per game obliterates his $4,300 price tag.

CENTERS

Al Horford, BOS vs. PHX ($7,700): Horford is the model of consistency, as he's been one of the most valuable centers in the NBA this season. In fact, Horford has scored at least 26 fantasy points in all but one game this season. He is one of the few centers in the league who provides statistics across the board. Plus, the fact that he faces Phoenix makes him a can't-miss play.

Mason Plumlee, DEN vs. LAL ($4,700): With so many injuries in Denver's frontcourt, Plumlee should be leaned on much more heavily for the next few games. With Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic out, Plumlee should see a skyrocket in usage, while approaching nearly 30 minutes in this matchup. He's one of the few centers who can provide valuable assists production, and the opportunities should be there.
