DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

There are only four games in the NBA on Sunday, three of which start in the afternoon. With the first game that's part of the main slate on DraftKings tipping off at 1pm EST, let's get right down to business and look at some players with favorable matchups to target for your entry.

Guards

Kyrie Irving, BOS vs. ORL ($8,600): Irving (shoulder) did not play Thursday against the Sixers, but is expected to return Sunday against the Magic. Irving provides a high floor in DFS with a 31.5 percent usage rate that ranks sixth-highest in the league. Add in the fact that the Magic allow the most DraftKings points per game (50.7) to opposing point guards and Irving looks to be one of the safer bets to produce Sunday.

Tim Hardaway Jr., NY at LAL ($6,800): Hardaway re-entered the starting lineup Friday for the first time since returning from a leg injury, scoring 43.8 DraftKings points against the Jazz. He's scored at least 41.3 DraftKings points in two of the last three games, which is no surprise considering his 24.1 percent usage rate is third-highest on the team. The Lakers play at the fastest pace (103.4 possessions per game) in the league, which should leave Hardaway with added opportunities to provide value.

Kyle Anderson, SA vs. IND ($5,000): Anderson continues to start in place of Kawhi Leonard (quad), scoring at least 26 DraftKings points in three of his last four games. He doesn't score much, but he's still provided value because of the added playing time, averaging 9.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.6 steals in 12 games that he has played at least 30 minutes this season.

Forwards

Kristaps Porzingis, NY at LAL ($8,700): Porzingis has not been hurt by the return of Hardaway, scoring at least 41.8 DraftKings points in four of the last five games. Porzingis is still going to get plenty of chances to score even with Hardaway in the lineup due to his 32 percent usage rate that is fifth-highest in the league. This could be a high-scoring game based on the Lakers pace of play and struggles on defense, making Porzingis an excellent option to consider for your entry.

Domantas Sabonis, IND at SA ($6,300): Sabonis continues to play well filling in for Myles Turner (elbow), averaging 15.1 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists in nine games this month. He doesn't provide much in the way of defensive stats, but he's still going to at least approach a double-double on a nightly basis based on his increased playing time. The Pacers are likely going to need Sabonis to play heavy minutes against the Spurs big frontcourt Sunday, making him a viable option at this reasonable price.

DeMarre Carroll, BKN at DET ($5,700): Carroll is rolling right now, scoring at least 30.5 DraftKings points in four of his last five games. Carroll has played well in general in his first season with the Nets, averaging career-highs in points (13.0) and rebounds (6.8) per game. With plenty of minutes likely on tap again Sunday, Carroll presents an excellent cost-effective option to consider.

Centers

Andre Drummond, DET vs. BKN ($10,000): Drummond continues to have a tremendous ceiling in DFS, scoring at least 56.8 DraftKings points in four of his last five games. One of those was a dominant performance against these same Nets when he scored 62 DraftKings points. Considering the Nets allow the most DraftKings points per game (55.9) to opposing centers, Drummond could be in for a monstrous repeat performance Sunday.

Pau Gasol, SA vs. IND ($6,700): Gasol is in the later stages of his career, but he's still been productive, scoring at least 31.8 DraftKings points in three of his last five games. He played at least 30 minutes in each of those three games and has averaged 16.7 points, 10.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists in six games that he has played at least 30 minutes in this season. If he gets extended minutes again Sunday, he could be in line for a big performance since the Pacers allow the second-most DraftKings points per game (55.6) to opposing centers.

Bismack Biyombo, ORL at BOS ($6,000): Biyombo continues to thrive in a starting role for the Magic, averaging 9.5 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 11 games. He's an excellent rebounder and shot blocker, so he doesn't need to score a lot to still provide a relatively high floor in DFS. There aren't a lot of great cheap options at center based on Sunday's limited slate, but Biyombo is someone to consider if you'd like to save some money at the position.
