Davis (ankle) was released by BC on Saturday.

One day after missing the team's preseason finale with an ankle injury, Davis hits the free agent market with less than a week to find a new team before Thursday's league opener. Davis played in one game in 2017, serving as a punt returner and taking five kicks for 34 yards.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Davis (ankle) is out for Friday's preseason game against the Blue Bombers.

As expected, Davis won't suit up for Friday's preseason game after he was seen sporting crutches and a walking boot following the team's previous tilt. There doesn't seem to be a strong chance he'll be available for the team's regular-season opener June 16 against Montreal. Assuming he's sidelined, Kevin Elliot and Ricky Collins should see more targets.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Davis (ankle) is walking with crutches and a walking boot following the team's win over Calgary on Saturday, Lowell Ullrich of TSN Radio 1040 reports.

X-rays were taken on the wide receiver's ankle, but as of right now the team is still awaiting the results. However, given the protective methods be used, it seems doubtful at the moment that Davis will be ready to play in the season opener June 16 against Montreal. If he's out, expect Kevin Elliot and Ricky Collins to see an uptick in targets.

Davis was removed from the team's depth chart ahead of Saturday's game against Toronto.

Davis was active for the first time all season when the Lions faced Winnipeg last weekend, but will not be a part of the active roster for the regular-season finale. Jeremiah Johnson and Chris Rainey are the only two running backs listed on the team's depth chart.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Davis is listed on the team's depth chart for Saturday's game against the Blue Bombers.

Davis hasn't played in any games for the Lions yet this season, but was added onto the active roster with the team eliminated from postseason contention. He will back up Chris Rainey at running back for the Week 19 clash, with regular starter Jeremiah Johnson being listed as the third man out of the backfield.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Davis could see action in this week's matchup with the Blue Bombers, Farhan Lalji of TSN reports.

Davis has not appeared in a game for the Lions this season, but he has been with the team since signing as a free agent in March, so he will be plenty familiar with the offense if he does indeed take the field this week.
