Watson caught three passes for 34 yards, including the game-winning touchdown in overtime, during Saturday's 35-29 victory over the Lions.

It was just his second trip to the end zone this season, and first since Week 5. Watson remains a secondary option in an Edmonton passing game stacked with targets right now, but with Mike Reilly firing on all cylinders, the 33-year-old slotback should continue to produce if he gets himself open.

Watson caught two passes for a season-high 80 yards in Thursday's 33-26 loss to the Blue Bombers.

His 72-yard scamper on a swing pass over the middle with less than seven minutes left in the fourth quarter set up a Mike Reilly sneak into the end zone, but Edmonton wasn't able to complete the comeback. Watson has yet to catch more than three passes in a game this season, and as the team's receiving corps gets healthier, the 33-year-old will likely lose the few targets he's been seeing.

Watson logged three receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 31-28 win over the Ti-Cats. He also gained 10 yards on his sole rush.

The 33-year-old slotback saw a bump in opportunity with Adarius Bowman (hamstring) sidelined and parlayed it into his first touchdown of the season. Watson's three receptions also matched the season high he'd established last week, and he should continue to play a slightly more prominent role than usual for the next several weeks while Bowman is sidelined. However, given the fact that younger options the likes of Brandon Zylstra, Bryant Mitchell and D'haquille Williams are also competing for targets, his role should continue to be relatively modest.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Watson is listed as a starting slotback on the depth chart for Saturday's matchup with the Lions.

Watson came out of the gates hot last year before fading down the stretch, but the decline will not prevent the veteran from opening the 2017 season with a spot in the starting lineup.

Watson (undisclosed) could return to action this week, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

The Eskimos have not activated Watson from the injured list just yet, but he was spotted at Tuesday's practice, which means he may be able to return to action before the regular season comes to a close.

Watson was placed on the six-game injured list Thursday due to a leg injury, the Edmonton Journal reports.

Watson was injured in last week's loss to the Roughriders, and he is now facing an extended absence from the lineup. He will be replaced at the slotback position by Brandon Zylstra.

Watson (undisclosed) did not take part in Wednesday's practice, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

Watson was injured in Sunday's game, and it appears he is still recovering from his setback. If Watson is unable to go in the Eskimos' next game Friday, Brandon Zylstra could suit up in his place.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Watson suffered an unspecified injury in Sunday's loss to the Roughriders, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

It's not clear what type of setback Watson is dealing with, but it leaves his status in question for the Eskimos' next game Friday and beyond.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Watson gained 56 yards on six receptions in Friday's 33-25 victory over the Roughriders.

The veteran national continues to execute his third-wheel role in the passing game to perfection, soaking up the targets that don't go the way of Adarius Bowman and Derel Walker. Watson actually outpaced both superstar wideouts in receptions on the night, an atypical development to be sure. Watson has been a steady performer overall, but hasn't found the end zone since Week 5, as both Bowman and Walker hold higher priority in that area of the field by far.

Watson recorded five receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 20-16 victory over the Blue Bombers.

The veteran slotback got the Eskimos into the end zone on a short pass from Mike Reilly just before halftime, which was preceded by an acrobatic sideline grab that was confirmed on replay after initially being ruled out of bounds. Despite sharing the field with the prolific duo of Adarius Bowman and Derel Walker, the 32-year-old Watson has found a way to remain relevant over the last two weeks, totaling 166 yards on 12 receptions over that span.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Watson caught a team-high seven passes for 118 yards in Friday's win over the Roughriders.

Adarius Bowman dominated the end zone targets, catching three TDs, but Watson was still plenty productive after a quiet first game of the season. The 32-year-old didn't make much of an impact in 2015 during his first campaign with the Eskimos however, so it remains to be seen whether Friday's impressive numbers are a sign that he's becoming a bigger factor in the passing game.
