Shaw was waived by the Redblacks on Tuesday.

Shaw missed majority of the 2017 season due to a knee injury, and his waiving Tuesday is likely related to that injury. Shaw appeared in just three games last season, catching six balls for 66 yards no scores in that time.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw (knee) will probably miss the remainder of the 2017 campaign, Tim Baines of the Ottawa Sun reports.

After leaving Saturday's game against the Lions, coach Rick Campbell noted that "I don't have the specifics, but it's not good, we don't expect him back anytime soon." In response to the news, the Redblacks have signed former Argonauts and Tigercats wide receiver Kevin Elliot. Joshua Stangby has also been moved from wide receiver to slotback to take Shaw's spot in the lineup. Shaw will most likely finish this season with six catches for 66 yards over three appearances.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw (undisclosed) could be facing a long-term absence, Tim Baines of Postmedia reports.

Shaw was helped off the field after a big hit during Saturday's game against the Lions. According to Baines, the Redblacks have invited former Argonauts and Tigercats receiver Kevin Elliot to practice, suggesting the team has begun to explore other options at the position. That doesn't bode well for Shaw's status.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw was helped off the field after taking a big hit near the end of the first quarter against the BC Lions, Tim Baines of Postmedia reports.

Currently there hasn't been any updates on Shaw's status, however it's not likely that he will return to the field immediately after needing assistance to walk off. Stay tuned for further news on Shaw's status.

August 17, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw (undisclosed) will be a starting slotback in Friday's game against the Tiger-Cats.

Shaw has been sidelined since suffering an injury in the Redblacks' season opener, but he is ready to return to the field after getting in several practice sessions over the last two weeks. Shaw will bolster an already-potent Ottawa slotback corps that includes Greg Ellingson and Brad Sinopoli.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw (undisclosed) practiced with the starters at Monday's practice, Tim Baines of Postmedia reports.

Shaw got in some practice time last week but was not ready to play just yet, but with him working with the Redblacks' top unit Monday, signs are pointing toward him returning to action in Week 9.

August 9, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw (undisclosed) was placed on the one-game injured list in advance of Thursday's Week 8 matchup with the Eskimos.

While Shaw will remain sidelined this week, he was moved from the six-game list to the shorter option, so he is closing in on a return to action. In fact, he was able to get in some work at practice this week, so he could presumably be ready to play as soon as Week 9.

August 7, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw (undisclosed) took part in Monday's practice, Tim Baines of Postmedia reports.

Shaw has not played since Ottawa's season opener, but it appears he is getting close to getting back on the field. He has a chance to return to action for Thursday's matchup with the Eskimos; but if he does not, it would seem there is a good chance he will be ready to go for the Redblacks' Week 9 matchup with the Tiger-Cats.

July 7, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw (undisclosed) was transferred to the six-game injured list prior to the Redblacks' Week 3 matchup with the Argonauts.

It's still not clear what is ailing Shaw; but whatever the setback is, it will prevent him from taking the field for more than just one game. Diontae Spencer and Joshua Stangby should both continue to play key roles for the Redblacks until Shaw is ready to return.

June 27, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Head coach Rick Campbell said Monday that Shaw will not play in Thursday's game against the Stampeders, the Ottawa Citizen reports.

The specifics of Shaw's injury are uncertain, but he was banged up in Ottawa's season opener, and the setback will prevent him from taking the field in Week 2. With Shaw out, Diontae Specner and Joshua Stangby are in line to see extra opportunities in the passing game.

June 19, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw worked as a starting receiver at Monday's practice, Tim Baines of Postmedia reports.

Shaw joined the Redblacks during the offseason after spending two years with the Argonauts, and he will open the season in the starting lineup even though he is now part of a deeper corps of receivers. Shaw was Toronto's top receiver last year and likely won't be the No. 1 option for Ottawa, but the Redblacks had four 1,000-yard receivers a year ago and lost two of them during the offseason, so Shaw should still have ample opportunities to make an impact.

February 14, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw inked a deal with the Redblacks on Tuesday, Justin Dunk of Sportsnet reports.

Shaw is a big signing for the Redblacks, as he was one of only 15 players in the CFL to eclipse 1000 yards in 2016. He also caught four touchdowns. With receiver Diontae Spencer also heading to Ottawa in free agency, the Redblacks should be able to move the ball through the air this coming season.

October 22, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw caught eight passes for 112 yards in Friday's loss to the Stampeders.

He showed some good chemistry with quarterback Ricky Ray, but it wasn't enough to get Toronto a victory in a game they needed to win to stay in the playoff picture. Shaw is now just 40 yards shy of his first 1000-yard season, a milestone he'll look to reach in the Argos' final game of the season, Nov. 5 in Edmonton.

October 11, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw collected 70 yards and a touchdown on six catches in Monday's 48-20 loss to the Stamps.

The 24-year-old continues to produce in a generally lackluster offensive attack, with Monday's effort serving as the third time in the last four games that he's secured at least six catches. Shaw also has three touchdowns over the last pair of contests and has served as one of the most dependable options for whoever has been behind center for the Argos this season. He remains within striking distance of the 1,000-yard mark in what is essentially his first CFL campaign, needing only 157 yards to reach the milestone.

October 3, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw caught two passes for 15 yards in Sunday's loss to the Alouettes.

His return to the starting lineup wasn't very impressive, but Shaw's outlook for the remainder of the season looks a lot better following the Argos' release of four other wide receivers Monday afternoon. Expect him to put up better numbers over Toronto's final four games.

October 1, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw (thumb) is listed as a starting receiver on the depth chart for Sunday's matchup with the Alouettes.

Shaw was scratched from last week's lineup due to a thumb injury, but he is on track to return to action in Week 15. Shaw had one of his best games of the season last time he took the field, totaling 90 yards and two touchdowns, but he will be playing with new starting quarterback Drew Willy for the first time Sunday.

September 23, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw (thumb) will not play Friday against Ottawa due to a thumb injury, Mike Hogan of TSN 1050 reports.

It's unclear when Shaw sustained the thumb injury but it's apparently severe enough to force him out of his first game this season. The 24-year-old wideout has been red hot the last three weeks, hauling in 17 receptions for 246 yards and two touchdowns. He'll look to heal up in time for the Argos' Week 15 matchup against the Alouettes.

September 17, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw totaled 90 yards and two touchdowns on six catches in Saturday's 46-29 loss to the Blue Bombers.

Shaw was a bright spot despite the double-digit loss, The FSU product hadn't visited the end zone since Week 6 versus the Redblacks, so the touchdowns were certainly a welcome sight. Shaw has demonstrated some impressive rapport with QB Dan LeFevour, as evidenced by his touchdown connections of 49 and three yards Saturday, and his 12 receptions over the first two contests with him behind center.

September 6, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw caught five passes for 90 yards in Monday's loss to the Tiger-Cats.

It's been feast or famine for Shaw this year, who now has five games with 86 or more receiving yards and four with 31 yards or less. That volatility makes him a risky fantasy play, but with the Argos passing game seemingly rounding into shape he could become a steadier contributor over the final weeks of the season.

August 13, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw caught seven passes for 63 yards in Friday's loss to the Blue Bombers.

He continued his strong run of production, and Shaw now has 29 catches for 350 yards and two TDs over the last four games. Perhaps more impressively, the second-year slotback has stayed on form regardless of who's been at quarterback for the Argos, as he's caught passes from two different QBs (Ricky Ray, and Logan Kilgore) during that stretch. Even if Kilgore eventually gives way to Cody Fajardo while Ray (knee) is out of action, don't be surprised if Shaw remains heavily involved in the Argos' passing attack.

August 1, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw tallied 107 yards and a touchdown on six receptions in Sunday's 23-20 victory over the Redblacks.

The FSU product has now visited the end zone in two straight contests, with Sunday's 30-yard touchdown coming courtesy of first-time starter Logan Kilgore. Shaw also managed a 41-yard reception and his second 100-yard game of the season, and appears to have hit his stride over the last three weeks. The 24-year-old has hauled in 22 catches for 287 yards and the aforementioned pair of touchdowns during that span while serving as the Argos' top receiver.

July 26, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw caught nine passes for 86 yards Monday, both team highs, while adding his first CFL touchdown in a win over the Alouettes.

The second-year wideout is proving he can handle a lead role in the Argos' passing attack and Shaw should continue seeing plenty of targets even after Kevin Elliott returns to the lineup from his shoulder injury.

July 14, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw caught seven passes for 94 yards in Wednesday's loss to the Redblacks.

Kevin Elliott's shoulder injury has created an opportunity for Shaw and he's responded with 14 catches for 203 receiving yards over the last two games while quickly becoming Ricky Ray's top option. The second-year player could be headed for a breakout season on an Argos team that desperately needs someone to step up in their passing game.

June 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shaw caught seven passes for a game-high 109 yards in Thursday's loss to the Tiger-Cats.

After barely seeing the field as a rookie last year, Shaw got his chance Thursday when Kevin Elliott injured his shoulder in the first half and took full advantage. There's no word yet on the severity of Elliott's injury, but Shaw has made a strong case to be heavily involved in the passing game going forward even if Elliott returns to action quickly.
