RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 16-of-21 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 27-3 win over Ottawa. He also added a rushing yard on his lone carry.

He also converted a two-point attempt in the first quarter. Mitchell left the contest in the second quarter after a late, low hit with a knee injury and would not return. The 28-year-old had done enough for the win, however, as his last drive ended in a field goal that provided the Stamps with a 17-0 lead. The severity of the injury is unknown and so is Mitchell's status for Calgary's Week 6 home matchup with Montreal.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell suffered an injury during Thursday's game against the Redblacks and went to the locker room.

It's not immediately clear what Mitchell's exact injury is, though it appears to be lower-body. After he left the field, Nick Arbuckle took over under center. Mitchell is doubtful to return.

June 29, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 19-of-35 pass attempts for 251 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Thursday's 24-14 win over Ottawa. He also gained one yard on his lone rushing attempt.

The Redblacks defense contained Mitchell for much of the first half until the 28-year-old took advantage of good field position off a Stampeder interception and threw a short touchdown. It was a game of near misses for the Eastern Washington product, as he had a couple dropped passes that could've gone for scores as well. He'll have a chance to improve after the bye when the Stamps travel to Ottawa for a Week 5 rematch.

June 24, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 20-of-22 pass attempts for 324 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 41-7 victory over the Argonauts. He also rushed once for four yards.

If Mitchell wanted revenge for last year's heart-rending Grey Cup loss to the Argonauts, he certainly achieved his goal by totally humiliating them in their home opener. The 28-year-old was unstoppable in the first half and led the Stampeders on four scoring drives, two of them ending in passing touchdowns. The assault on Toronto's end zone would continue in the third quarter when the Eastern Washington product drove down the field for his final touchdown pass before backup Nick Arbuckle took over for the remainder of the game. Mitchell has passed for at least 4,500 yards in each of the last three season and looks well on his way to repeating the feat in 2018. Calgary returns home Week 3 to face the Redblacks.

June 16, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 17 of 36 passes for 297 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Stampeders' 28-14 win over the Tiger-Cats on Saturday. He also rushed once for 12 yards.

As was the case on occasion last season, Mitchell struggled some with his completion percentage, but he made more than enough plays to help lead his team to victory. One was an 18-yard scoring strike to Kamar Jorden with 10:40 remaining in the fourth quarter that extended the Stampeders' lead to 18-11 at the time. Mitchell could be the beneficiary of an increased workload in 2018 in the wake of the offseason departure of running back Jerome Messam, which would bump up his overall fantasy prospects. He'll look to cross the 300-yard mark that he just narrowly missed Saturday when the Stampeders do battle with the Argonauts in a Grey Cup Week 2 rematch.

June 4, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 3-of-5 passes for 45 yards in Friday's preseason game against the Lions. He also added a two-yard touchdown on the ground.

Mitchell saw action on two drives and was able to cap one of them with a score. He has been Calgary's top quarterback for many years at this point, so he may not see any more action this preseason. Regardless, Mitchell will be under center when the Stampeders kick off their regular season June 16 against the Tiger-Cats.

November 2, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell is listed as the backup quarterback on the team's depth chart for Friday's game against Winnipeg.

With the Stampeders' locked into the top spot ahead of next weekend's Division Semi-Finals, it appears as though coach Dave Dickenson will give Andrew Buckley the reigns for the team's regular-season finale. There hasn't been any word on Mitchell's availability, or if he's going to split time with Buckley in order to stay warm, but it's safe to say that he won't have the same fantasy impact that he normally provides during this outing.

October 28, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 24 of 35 passes for 307 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 29-20 loss to the Eskimos.

Mitchell provided his first 300-yard effort since Week 10 and notched multiple touchdowns for only the second time in the last five games. The veteran signal caller connected with eight different pass catchers on the night, but his pair of touchdown passes to Anthony Parker and Kamar Jorden didn't transpire until the second half, with the first coming after Calgary already faced a 16-6 deficit. Mitchell's passing yardage total pushed his season tally to an even 4,700 yards, leaving him well within striking distance of a second straight 5,000-yard campaign when the Stampeders tangle with the Blue Bombers in Week 20.

October 21, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 14 of 27 passes for 136 yards and two interceptions in Friday's 30-7 loss to the Roughriders.

To make matters worse, one of those picks was returned 73 yards for a touchdown by Duron Carter, who's normally a wide receiver. Something definitely seems amiss with Mitchell and the usually high-powered Stamps attack -- over the last six games, the reigning Most Outstanding Player Award winner has completed just 60.3 percent of his passes and thrown for 235.7 yards a game with a 7.9 YPA and 6:5 TD:INT, numbers well off his usual pace. Calgary will get two more regular-season games to straighten things out before the playoffs begin, starting next Saturday in Edmonton.

October 13, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 19 of 34 passes for 279 yards with one touchdown and one interception in Friday's 28-25 win over the Tiger-Cats. He also completed a two-point conversion pass.

Mitchell had a subpar 55.9 percent completion rate for the night, but he made two crucial connections when it counted most to set up a Rene Paredes game-winning field goal. The veteran signal caller was able to hit Marken Michel for 15 and four yards on Calgary's final drive before a pass interference penalty against the Tiger-Cats' Courtney Stephen placed the ball at Hamilton's 10-yard line. The 27-year-old had also hit the returning Kamar Jorden for a 25-yard touchdown with just over five minutes remaining to erase an 18-17 deficit. Although Mitchell threw for under 300 yards for the sixth consecutive contest, he still remains well within striking distance of eclipsing the second-best yardage total (4,551) of his career. He'll look to take another step towards that goal against the Roughriders in Week 18.

September 30, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 14 of 19 passes for 265 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Friday's 59-11 victory over the Alouettes. He also completed a two-point conversion pass.

The Stampeders steamrolled the Alouettes overall on their way to a 17th straight home victory and MItchell played a large part, putting together an impressively efficient performance. Mitchell's 73.7 percent completion rate was particularly positive, as was his second two-touchdown effort in the last three contests. Mitchell hasn't topped 300 yards through the air since Week 10, but considering the team's dominant defense, he typically carries less of an offensive burden than many other quarterbacks in the CFL. He'll look to put together another strong performance against the Tiger-Cats in Week 17 following a Week 16 bye.

September 24, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 24 of 32 passes for 222 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Sunday's 15-9 win over the Roughriders. He also gained 11 yards on his two rushes.

As has been the case recently, Mitchell generated modest numbers but did enough to lead his team to victory. Mitchell has been under 300 yards for four straight games, and Sunday's contest was his second over that span in which he's failed to throw for at least one touchdown. However, the veteran signal caller encouragingly stayed away from turnovers for a second consecutive contest after throwing at least one interception in each of the four games prior. Mitchell will look to up his overall numbers when the Stamps face off with the Alouettes in Week 15.

September 17, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 16 of 31 passes for 240 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 27-13 win over the Lions.

Mitchell got the job done despite completing just 51.6 percent of his throws, connecting with seven different pass catchers and firing touchdowns to Marken Michel and Reginald Begelton. The game marked Mitchell's first since Week 10 with multiple scores and he also checked in under the 300-yard mark for the third straight week. Despite the slight downturn in production, the 27-year-old remains a solid week-to-week fantasy option on one of the CFL's best squads. He'll look to continue his winning ways versus the Roughriders in Week 14.

September 11, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 21 of 36 passes for 272 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in Saturday's 25-22 win over the Eskimos.

Mitchell had his share of struggles against a tough Eskimos secondary, but he managed to spearhead a game-winning 69-yard drive in the final two minutes to lead Calgary to its seventh straight victory. The 27-year-old has been somewhat quiet on the touchdown front as of late -- firing just three scores in his last three contests -- but he's thrown for no less than Saturday's 272 yards in each of those games. Mitchell also continues to distribute the ball well, connecting with seven different pass catchers Saturday. He'll look to keep his strong stretch of play going against the Lions in Week 13.

September 4, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 19 of 27 passes for 277 yards with an interception in Monday's 39-18 win over Edmonton.

Despite relatively poor production by his standards, Mitchell kept the Stamps offense humming and let the running game get most of the glory. He's now thrown for only six TDs over his last five games and his numbers in general are down from a year ago, but his 9.0 yards per attempts would actually be a career high if he can maintain that pace.

August 27, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 31 of 42 passes for 384 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Saturday's 23-7 win over the Argos.

It looked like Mitchell could be in for a disastrous performance, as the game's first score came on a 115-yard INT return for a TD by the Argos' Cassius Vaughn early in the second quarter, but he quickly rallied the troops and led the Stamps to 23 unanswered points. The 27-year-old isn't dominating the CFL as he did last season, but that's more due to other teams catching up to Calgary's offensive output rather than regression on Mitchell's part. Through nine games, he's on pace for a career-high 5404 passing yards and his second straight 30-TD campaign.

August 23, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell could be dealing with an arm injury, the Calgary Sun reports.

Mitchell has been able to take part in practice this week, but he indicated after Friday's game -- in which he was not particularly sharp -- that he was dealing with an injury that was affecting his throws. Mitchell finished las week's contest and is on track to play Saturday against the Argonauts, but it's uncertain whether he will be 100 percent.

August 19, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 15 of 31 passes for 237 yards and an interception in Friday's 21-17 win over the Lions.

It's the first time since Week 8 of last year that Mitchell has failed to throw a TD pass in a regular-season game. The reigning Most Outstanding Player Award winner has now slipped to sixth in passing yards per game at 289.8, but his 13:4 TD:INT remains among the strongest ratios in the league.

August 3, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 19 of 24 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns in Thursday's 41-24 win over the Argos.

Calgary was up 33-10 early in the third quarter, so Mitchell took his foot off the gas and didn't compile the kind of yardage he's usually capable of over a full 60 minutes. The performance still put him over 2,000 passing yards on the year through just seven games, however, and his 13:3 TD:INT remains elite. The Stamps will get a bye next week, but look for Mitchell to be productive once again in Week 9 on the road against the Lions.

July 30, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 11 of 17 passes for 197 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in Saturday's 60-1 win over the Ti-Cats, a game in which he exited at halftime due to the Stamps' sizable lead. He also completed a two-point conversion pass.

Mitchell didn't have to break much of a sweat in the blowout win, as running back Jerome Messam handled a lot of the heavy lifting even before the quarterback got the hook at intermission. Mitchell found receiver Marken Michel, who stepped up with an outstanding performance after Kamar Jorden injured his ankle in the first quarter, for a 35-yard score late in the second quarter to wrap up his night. The abbreviated outing put somewhat of a crimp on the statistical momentum Mitchell has been building in the early going of the season, but he still boasts an impressive 1,832 yards through the air and a 10:3 TD:INT ratio. He'll look to fill out the stat sheet again in Week 7 against the Argos.

July 22, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 16 of 28 passes for 253 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in Saturday's 27-10 win over the Riders.

Mitchell looked a tad pedestrian for the first time this season, as he'd thrown for no less than 295 yards in a game prior to Saturday. However, he did manage to fire multiple scores for the third time in five contests and continued showing impressive rapport with Kamar Jorden, who he found for a game-high eight receptions. Given the potent array of offensive personnel at his disposal, Mitchell continues to be a viable fantasy option each week regardless of matchup. He'll look to continue his strong start against the Ti-Cats in Week 6.

July 14, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 34 of 50 passes for 379 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 30-23 loss to the Alouettes.

Jerome Messam's ejection late in the second quarter took away the balance in Calgary's offense, forcing Mitchell to attempt a season-high 50 passes but not leading to a lot of points. The 27-year-old is still averaging 345.5 passing yards a game with a 7:2 TD:INT through four weeks, and he should be able to produce more TDs in Week 5 at home against Saskatchewan.

July 8, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 22 of 34 passes for 332 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions in Friday's 29-10 win over the Blue Bombers.

It wasn't a particularly sharp performance from the reigning Most Outstanding Player Award winner, but Mitchell still topped 300 passing yards for the second time in three games this season despite throwing his first two picks in 2017. He'll try to keep things rolling for the undefeated Stamps next week in Montreal.

June 30, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 19 of 31 passes for 295 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in Thursday's 43-39 win over the Redblacks.

Although it was the first time in the last four meetings against Ottawa that Mitchell failed to crack the 300-yard mark, he was coolly efficient while finding Lemar Durant six times for 126 yards and prudently using his other receivers when necessary. The sixth-year quarterback kept his foot on the gas in the fourth quarter when the Redblacks got within striking distance, and he handed the keys over to running back Jerome Messam to help ice the game. Following a career 2016, Mitchell has gotten the new season off to an impressive start, throwing five touchdowns without an interception and already compiling 671 yards over his first two games. He'll look to make it three impressive outings to start 2017 when the Stamps take on the Blue Bombers in a Week 3 road tilt.

June 23, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 31 of 48 passes for 376 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's 31-31 tie with the Redblacks.

After the two teams played to a tie last season before needing extra time to settle their epic clash in the Grey Cup, it's perhaps no surprise that they needed overtime in this one as well. Mitchell picked up right where he left off from his 2016 campaign, completing multiple passes to seven different receivers, and with Calgary's offense showing no signs of taking a step back this year he should once again be in the running for the Most Outstanding Player award.

June 16, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 8-of-11 passes for 107 yards in the Stampeders' preseason finale last week.

Mitchell played sparingly during the preseason, but he is locked in as the Stampeders' starting quarterback heading into Week 1. Mitchell is coming off the best season of his career, one that saw him post 5,385 passing yards and a 32:8 TD:INT en route to being named the CFL's Most Outstanding Player.

November 28, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 28 of 41 passes for 391 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions in Sunday's 39-33 overtime loss to Ottawa in the 104th Grey Cup.

It was the first time all season that Mitchell, the CFL's Most Outstanding Player award winner, had been picked off three times in a game, but he shook off the turnovers to engineer two scoring drives inside the final two minutes to force overtime. His magic ran out in the extra frame though, as the Stamps went three and out on their only possession. The 26-year-old is just hitting his prime, and given the weapons he has surrounding him in Calgary, Mitchell figures to be among the league's elite QBs for many years to come.

November 21, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 21 of 28 passes for 365 yards and three touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 42-15 win over the Lions in the Western Final.

Despite not having thrown a pass in anger in almost a month due to the Stamps' regular season dominance, Mitchell was as sharp as ever Sunday. The likely CFL Most Outstanding Player will look to cap off his impressive campaign with a win next Sunday over Ottawa in the 104th Grey Cup.

November 20, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell will start at quarterback in Sunday's Western Final matchup with the Lions.

Mitchell was held out of the Stampeders' final regular season game with the team's postseason positioning already set, but he will be back under center Sunday as the team looks to earn a spot in next week's Grey Cup.

October 28, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell is not expected to start Sunday's game against the Alouettes, 3DownNation reports.

The Stampeders have locked up the top record in the CFL, so it appears they will rest their starting quarterback this week, and give backup Drew Tate the start. Mitchell still figures to be available if needed, but if he is not starting, the Stampeders will likely look to avoid using him altogether.

October 22, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 20 of 30 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's win over the Argos.

It's a testament to the extraordinary season Mitchell has put together that Friday's line was one of his weakest of the year. He's still thrown for multiple TDs in 12 of 17 starts and topped 250 passing yards in 16 straight, with a Week 1 game against the Lions being the only time he missed that mark. Expect another strong performance from Mitchell in the Stamps' next game, Oct. 30 in Montreal.

October 11, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 18 of 27 passes for 281 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in Monday's 48-20 victory over the Argos.

The gunslinger was lethal in carving up the Argos during his time in the game, completing passes to seven different receivers, two of which went over the 100-yard mark. Mitchell didn't quite reach the 300-yard milestone for the second consecutive week, but easily could have had he remained in the contest. He now has a career-high 4,871 yards passing on the season and a stellar 29:8 TD:INT ratio. The 26-year-old will look to continue his outstanding campaign when he and the Stamps take on the Als in Week 17.

October 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 20 of 29 passes for 293 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in Saturday's 36-17 win over the Ti-Cats.

Other than suffering his first pair of interceptions since Week 12 versus the Eskimos, Mitchell turned in another trademark solid performance. He did fall just short of the 300-yard mark for the first time since Week 8 versus the Roughriders, but hit seven different receivers on the way to the easy victory. Mitchell and the Stamps will try to keep their momentum going when they take on the Argos in a Week 16 road tilt.

September 25, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 29 of 43 passes for 361 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 36-34 victory over the Blue Bombers.

The prolific gunslinger put on an outstanding performance overall, but was forced to keep throwing in the second half despite having helped build a 24-0 lead by late in the second quarter. The Blue Bombers' game comeback attempt led to them eventually taking a 34-33 lead with 20 seconds remaining in the game, prompting Mitchell to complete passes of 14 and 22 yards to Kamar Jorden and Lemar Durant, respectively, to set up a game-winning field goal by Rene Paredes. Mitchell now has six straight 300-yard passing performances and multiple touchdowns in four straight, as well as five out of his last six. He's now just 255 yards from eclipsing the career-high 4,551 he threw for in 2015, a milestone he'll have a chance to reach Week 15 versus the Ti-Cats.

September 18, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 23 of 35 passes for 353 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 48-23 blowout win over the Redblacks.

Mitchell continues to provide stellar performances week in and week out, completing passes to eight different receivers Saturday. The veteran signal-caller has now rattled off five straight 300-yard performances and has multiple touchdowns in four of those contests. He'll look to extend his streak of success when takes on the Blue Bombers in a road tilt in Week 14.

September 11, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 25 of 38 passes for 338 yards with three touchdowns and an interception in Saturday's 34-28 overtime victory over the Eskimos.

The veteran signal-caller got the job done once again with a stellar performance, completing passes to seven different receivers and hitting Bakari Grant for what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown in the extra period. It was Mitchell's ninth game with over 300 yards on the season, the most of any quarterback in the CFL. He's also accomplished the feat in four straight games and has multiple-touchdown efforts in three of his last four contests. He'll look to continue what has been an MVP-caliber season when he takes on the Redblacks in Week 13.

September 6, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 25 of 32 passes for 380 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Monday's win over the Eskimos.

The 26-year-old QB continues to produce excellent numbers and with the Stampeders on top of the Western Division with an 8-1-1 record, a Most Outstanding Player Award might well be in Mitchell's future. He's get another chance to topple the Eskimos in Edmonton on Saturday.

August 29, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 27 of 37 passes for 323 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Tiger-Cats.

Zach Collaros was busy putting up more impressive numbers under center for Hamilton, but Mitchell simply went about his business and kept Calgary's offense moving all game. He's now second in the league to Edmonton's Mike Reilly in passing yards on the season with 2,857 while Mitchell's 15:4 TD:INT is the best of any QB who's played a full schedule so far.

August 20, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 28 of 38 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's 37-9 win over the Lions.

The Stampeders' defense completely put the clamps on Jonathan Jennings and the BC offense, but Mitchell still kept his foot on the gas in the blowout victory. He now leads the CFL in passing yards (2534) and passing TDs (14) through eight games.

August 14, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 18 of 31 passes for 298 yards with an interception in Saturday's 9-10 win over the Roughriders.

His 31-game TD streak ends with a whimper in a sloppy affair but it wasn't exactly Mitchell's fault, as Jerome Messam fumbled at the end of what could have been a long touchdown reception. Expect Mitchell to put up better numbers next Friday on the road against the Lions.

August 5, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 25 of 37 passes for 312 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 35-15 win over the Roughriders.

He's now thrown at least one TD pass in 21 games, tying CFL legends Doug Flutie and Anthony Calvillo for the fourth-longest streak in league history. Mitchell now has an outstanding 12:3 TD:INT through six games this season to go along with a 66.4 percent (152-of-229) completion rate and 1896 passing yards.

July 30, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 29 of 44 passes for 364 yards and three touchdowns with one interception in Friday's wild 44-41 overtime win over the Lions.

Down 34-19 heading into the fourth quarter, the 26-year-old QB threw TD strikes to Greg Wilson and Bakari Grant inside the final three minutes of the game, topping the second one off with a two-point conversion to Anthony Parker to send the game into overtime. Mitchell is now well on pace for a career season, throwing for 1584 yards and an 11:3 TD:INT through five games while completing 66.1 percent (127-of-192) of his passes.

July 22, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 29 of 41 passes for 310 yards and three touchdowns with one interception in Thursday's 33-18 win over the Blue Bombers.

He's off to an outstanding start this season, averaging better than 300 passing yards through four games with a sharp 8:2 TD:INT. Mitchell established new career highs pretty much across the board in 2015, but that may have just been a preview of what's to come for the 26-year-old quarterback.

July 9, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 29 of 43 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns while getting picked off once in Friday's 26-26 tie with the Redblacks.

His short TD pass late in the fourth quarter to Jerome Messam sent the game into overtime, but the two teams were unable to settle things in overtime. Mitchell now has an impressive 910 passing yards and five TDs through three games, with Friday's INT being his first of the year. He and the Stamps will get next week off before facing the Blue Bombers in Winnipeg on July 21.

July 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 24 of 37 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's win over the Blue Bombers.

He also chipped in 20 rushing yards. Mitchell likely would have put up even better numbers in a more competitive game, but Calgary took a 36-7 lead into the fourth quarter, causing them to take their foot off the gas offensively. He'll face a tougher test next week when Calgary heads to Ottawa.

June 26, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 16 of 27 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 20-18 loss to the Lions. He added six yards on one rush.

The 26-year-old turned in an efficient, if unspectacular performance, hitting Kamar Jorden for his only touchdown on the night. The Stamps' passing attack was in somewhat conservative mode throughout the opener, but given the type of production Mitchell displayed last season, the potential for much more is unquestionably there. The Eastern Washington product was second only to the Redblacks' Trevor Harris with 26 touchdown passes in 2015, and will look to grow the passing attack in Calgary's Week 2 tilt versus Winnipeg.

June 18, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mitchell completed 6-of-13 passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 31-21 preseason victory over the BC Lions.

The Eastern Washington product got his work in against the team he'll face in the opener next week, and looked reasonably sharp while doing so. Mitchell completed an 11-yard touchdown to Jerome Messam on Calgary's second drive, and then fired a successful eight-yard conversion pass to Marquay McDaniel following the score. Expectations are high for both the Stamps and Mitchell this coming season, considering the array of accolades he earned in 2015 after throwing for 4,551 yards, 26 touchdowns, and amassing the highest win total of any CFL quarterback (13). The 26-year-old also was effective when scrambling last season, notching another three visits to the end zone and 88 yards on 19 rushes.
