RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 18 of 25 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown in Friday's win over Toronto. He also rushed once for two yards.

Collaros, who was only named the starter entering Week 1, further cemented his role by leading his new team to victory. Acquired in the offseason from the Tiger-Cats, the 29-year-old had to battle a trio of other quarterbacks for the job after the departure of incumbent starter Kevin Glenn to Edmonton. The Cincinnati product will try to keep the momentum rolling on the road Week 2 at Ottawa.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros has been named the starter for Friday's opener against Toronto, Justin Dunk of 3Down Nation reports.

It has been an open competition between Collaros and Brandon Bridge after Collaros was acquired in a trade with the Tiger-Cats. Both have starting experience with Collaros serving as the signal caller for both Hamilton and Toronto in the past, and Bridge serving as Saskatchewan's top option last season. In 2017, Collaros played in nine games, completing 62.8 percent of his passes for 1,767 yards and threw eight touchdowns versus seven picks.

January 3, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros was traded to the Roughriders in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2018 CFL Draft.

Collaros spent the 2017 season in a backup role following solid campaigns with the Tiger-Cats during the previous three years. Over the course of his six-year professional career in the CFL, Collaros has thrown for 13,759 yards, 83 touchdowns and 1,127 completions in 59 games. He's also added 846 rushing yards and eight scores on the ground. The veteran will look to rejuvenate his career with the Roughriders, and although the team recently re-signed Brandon Bridge and utilized Kevin Glenn as the starter throughout this past year, Collaros has the opportunity to step in and compete for the starting gig right away with his new organization.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Correcting a previous note, Collaros will not start during Saturday's game against the Argonauts.

Jeremiah Masoli will draw the start, per usual.

September 30, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros is listed as the starting quarterback for Saturday's game against the Argonauts.

In eight games played, Collaros is 165-for-263 for 1,743 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.

August 29, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros will not start during Monday's tilt against the Argonauts, as coach Kent Austin has opted to insert Jeremiah Masoli under center, David William Naylor of TSN reports.

Collaros was benched early in the fourth quarter of Week 9's loss to the Redblacks in favor of Masoli after losing a fumble that was returned for a touchdown. Coach Austin has opted to switch things up on offense, still hoping to find a win. As a result, Masoli will draw the start for the Week 11 Labour Day Classic.

August 18, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed nine of 17 passes for 102 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in Friday's 37-18 loss to the Redblacks. He also gained three yards on two rushes but was replaced early in the fourth quarter after losing a fumble that was returned for a touchdown.

Collaros was impressive early while finding Luke Tasker for a 44-yard touchdown in the first quarter, but that play ended up representing a huge chunk of his production. The veteran struggled to get much of anything else going in the passing game and was finally replaced by Jeremiah Masoli in the fourth quarter after losing the football under heavy pressure. Collaros has now thrown for 102 yards in two of his last four games and has frequently had trouble connecting with receivers downfield. With Masoli having played reasonably well in relief Friday, it remains to be seen who'll get the starting nod in the Week 11 Labour Day Classic against the Argos following a Week 10 bye.

August 12, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 21of 33 passes for 216 yards with a touchdown and an interception in Saturday's 39-12 loss to the Blue Bombers.

Collaros' one bright spot was the 29-yard touchdown he fired to Demarr Aultman in the third quarter, although the latter did the majority of the work by gaining 26 of those yards after the catch. The 28-year-old otherwise couldn't replicate his strong three-touchdown effort from Week 7 and also threw an interception for the fifth straight week. He and the rest of his Ti-Cats teammates will look to right the ship and finally secure their first win against the Redblacks next Friday.

August 4, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 24 of 35 passes for 282 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in Friday's 33-28 loss to the Eskimos. He also completed a two-point conversion pass and gained 21 yards on his two rushes.

While the comeback ultimately fell short, Collaros looked much better than in last week's 60-1 disaster of a loss, a game in which he got an early hook. He brought the Ti-Cats to within 33-28 with a 20-yard touchdown to Jalen Saunders with 2:17 remaining, but then threw incomplete to Mike Jones as time ran out. The game was Collaros' first three-touchdown effort of the season and evened out his TD:INT ratio at 6:6. With a strong effort and near upset washing away the bad taste of the Week 6 blowout loss, Collaros will once again try to lead Hamilton to its first win when they take on the Blue Bombers in Week 8.

July 30, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 14 of 21 passes for 102 yards with no touchdowns and one interception in Saturday's 60-1 loss to the Stamps.

Collaros was pulled late in the third quarter of the blowout, as head coach Kent Austin opted to give backup Jeremiah Masoli some work. The night was a difficult one all around for the Ti-Cats offense, so the blame can hardly be placed at Collaros' feet alone. The 28-year-old has had trouble making big plays this season save for his 361-yard explosion in Week 4, but he likely remains the Ti-Cats' best option behind center. With the season already looking lost, however, it wouldn't be completely out of the realm of possibility for Austin to give Masoli a chance to lead the offense in Week 7 versus the Eskimos.

July 20, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 22 of 36 passes for 249 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in Thursday's 31-28 loss to the Eskimos. He also gained six yards on his sole rush and fumbled once, although it was recovered.

Collaros started off the game hot and staked Hamilton to a 15-6 lead with a touchdown pass to Luke Tasker late in the first half. However, he threw a fourth-quarter interception on a deep ball that resulted in three Edmonton points, equal to the final margin of defeat. The 28-year-old had enjoyed a breakout effort versus the Lions in Week 4, but Thursday's performance was reminiscent of the sluggish offense that he'd helmed over the first two weeks of the season. Collaros will try to improve his 3:4 TD:INT ratio and help Hamilton to its first win when they take on the Stampeders on the road in Week 6.

July 15, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 30 of 48 passes for 361 yards with one touchdown and one interception in Saturday's 41-26 loss to the Lions. He also gained 22 yards on his two rushes.

The Ti-Cats passing game had been mostly pedestrian over the first two games, but Collaros stepped up with what was easily his best performance of the season Saturday. The veteran connected with eight different pass catchers on the night and had a particularly impressive rapport with Jalen Saunders, who he connected with for five receptions, 147 yards and a touchdown. While Hamilton ultimately came up short, the prolific effort was certainly encouraging from a fantasy perspective. Collaros will look to build on the standout effort when the Ti-Cats try once again for their first victory in Week 5 against the Eskimos.

July 8, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 19 of 34 passes for 189 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in Saturday's 37-20 loss to the Roughriders. He didn't net any yards on his sole rush.

Collaros and the Ti-Cats offense seemed stuck in neutral throughout the night, with Collaros completing only 55.9 percent of his passes and turning in his third sub-200-yard effort since Week 15 of last season. The 28-year-old did manage to throw his first touchdown pass of 2017 to Jasper Collins in the third quarter, but otherwise appears to be struggling without top target Terrence Toliver (knee). Meanwhile, Luke Tasker, who'd turned in seven receptions in Week 1, was notably held without a catch Saturday, further crippling the offense. Collaros will look to bounce back in a Week 4 matchup against the Lions, but his wideout options currently seem to be capping his overall fantasy value.

June 25, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 26 of 39 passes for 242 yards with no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 32-15 loss to the Argonauts.

Collaros was completely overshadowed by Ricky Ray's career day for the Argos, and he could never get the Ti-Cats' offense into any type of rhythm. The veteran quarterback did connect on nearly 67 percent of his 39 attempts, averaging a respectable 9.3 yards per completion. However, that pace was nowhere near the one he would have needed to keep up with Toronto's offense, leading to a rather surprising blowout loss. The 28-year-old produced a solid 18:8 TD:INT ratio over 10 games in 2016, so there's hope he'll generate more fantasy-friendly numbers in a Week 3 matchup versus the Riders following next week's bye.

June 19, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 10-of-17 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown in Hamilton's preseason finale.

Collaros did not appear in the Tiger-Cats' first preseason game and played sparingly in the second, but head coach Kent Austin did not want to take any chances with Collaros' health after the quarterback appeared in just 10 games a year ago. With Collaros making it through the preseason without a new injury, he is set to start at quarterback Week 1 for the Tiger-Cats. Jeremiah Masoli will enter the season as Collaros' backup.

November 14, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 20 of 31 passes for 236 yards with an interception in Sunday's 24-21 loss to Edmonton in the Eastern Semifinal.

The winds at Tim Hortons Stadium made it almost impossible for either passing game to get going, but even so Collaros' interception came at the worst possible time, as he was picked off inside the final two minutes to set up the game-winning field goal for Edmonton. He has trouble staying healthy again this season, with his 10 games played being his lowest total in three seasons with the Ti-Cats, but Collaros was very productive when he was on the field, posting an 18:8 TD:INT and falling a handful of yards shy of his third 3000-yard campaign.

November 6, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros played just one quarter in Saturday's loss to the Alouettes, completing eight of 12 passes for 134 yards.

With Hamilton having already locked up their playoff spot regardless of the outcome of the game, they elected to give Collaros and other starters plenty of rest. He'll be back under center next Sunday when the Ti-Cats host Edmonton in the Eastern Semifinal.

October 29, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (concussion) completed 26 of 40 passes for 273 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in Friday's 29-26 loss to the Eskimos.

Collaros was mistake-free in his return and completed passes to five different receivers, with running back CJ Gable actually serving as his top target. Despite an injury-shortened campaign, Collaros has largely been impressive in his nine games, with 2,804 yards and an 18:8 TD:INT ratio. He'll look to close out the regular season with a victory when the Ti-Cats take on the Als in Week 20.

October 28, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (concussion) will start Friday's game against the Eskimos, The Hamilton Spectator reports.

Collaros has recovered from the concussion that prevented him from playing in Hamilton's last two games, and he is good to go Friday following a full week of practice. Injuries have limited Collaros to just eight games this season, but he has produced when he plays, averaging 344 passing yards and over two touchdowns per contest in the seven games he has finished.

October 26, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (concussion) practiced Wednesday for the third day in a row, and is expected to start Friday's game against the Eskimos, Drew Edwards of the Hamilton Spectator reports.

Collaros has been sidelined by a concussion since early October. If Collaros can start Friday, Jeremiah Masoli will be relegated to a backup role once again.

October 25, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (concussion) practiced Tuesday for the second day in a row, Steve Milton of the Hamilton Spectator reports.

With Collaros taking part in the Tiger-Cats' first two practice sessions of the week, it appears he will return to action for this week's matchup with the Eskimos and reclaim the starting quarterback job from Jeremiah Masoli.

October 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (concussion) returned to practice on Monday, Rick Zamperin of AM900 CHML reports.

There is not yet word whether or not Collaros will play this Friday against the Eskimos. Collaros has been dealing with this injury since the beginning of October and hasn't played since. There will likely be more updates on his status closer to game day.

October 17, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (concussion) will not play in Friday's game against the Redblacks, 3DownNation reports.

Collaros was unable to practice Monday, and head coach Kent Austin wasted no time ruling him out for a second straight game. Jeremiah Masoli will make another start under center in Collaros' place.

October 17, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (concussion) was not able to practice Monday, Drew Edwards of the Hamilton Spectator reports.

Collaros suffered the concussion in early October, and he is apparently still dealing with the symptoms. His status for the Tiger-Cats' next game Friday against the Redblacks is questionable for now.

October 11, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (concussion) will not play in Friday's game against the Redblacks, CFL.ca reports.

Collaros is dealing with concussion symptoms from a hit he took nearly two weeks ago, and he will not be able to recover in time to play Friday. Jeremiah Masoli will get the start against the Redblacks in Collaros' place.

October 10, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (concussion) did not take part in Monday's practice, 3DownNation reports.

Collaros is apparently still dealing with concussion symptoms coming out of the Tiger-Cats' Week 16 bye, as Collaros was not at practice Monday. Jeremiah Masoli worked with the first unit in Collaros' place and would start Hamilton's next game Friday if Collaros is unable to go.

October 3, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros is dealing with a "mild concussion," the Hamilton Spectator reports.

Collaros suffered the setback near the end of the first half of Saturday's loss to the Stampeders, and he was ultimately removed from the game after briefly staying in. It's not clear if the concussion will cost Collaros any action, but he will get extra recovery time thanks to the Tiger-Cats' Week 16 bye.

October 1, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (upper body) will not return to Saturday's game against Calgary, Matthew Scianitti of TSN reports.

Jeremiah Masoli will be the expected starter at quarterback for the remainder of Saturday's game. It's unclear exactly how severe the injury to Collaros is, but his next opportunity to make a return will be Oct. 14 against the Redblacks.

October 1, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros sustained an upper-body injury in Saturday's game against Calgary, Louis Butko of TSN reports.

It's unclear exactly what happened but Collaros did not come out from the locker room before the start of the second half. His status for the rest of the game is uncertain. Jeremiah Masoli is the next man up at the quarterback position.

September 25, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 26 of 40 passes for 310 yards with a touchdown and interception in Saturday's 20-18 loss to the Roughriders.

The gunslinger hit a whopping eight different receivers on the night, but came up just short. Collaros started slow with an interception on an under-thrown pass on his first attempt of the game, yet recovered to lead a 105-yard scoring drive on the Ti-Cats' second possession, with the signal-caller responsible for all of two of those yards on five completions. Overall, it was the 28-year-old's sixth 300-yard performance in his seven games this season, and he's now notched at least one touchdown pass in each contest. Collaros and the Ti-Cats will try to rebound when they take on the red-hot Stamps in Week 15.

September 17, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 25 of 36 passes for 291 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions in Friday's 20-17 win over the Alouettes.

He was picked off twice for the second straight game, as Collaros' bad habits have started to catch up with him again, but he was able to lead the Ti-Cats into field goal range in the final minute of the game to set up Brett Maher's game-winning field goal. He should be able to put up better numbers next Saturday on the road against the lowly Roughriders.

September 12, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 22 of 39 passes for 300 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions during Sunday's loss to the Argos.

After four straight fantastic game since returning to action, Collaros was probably due for a bit of a stinker. He still hit the 300-yard mark for the fifth straight game though, and his 15:4 TD:INT remains elite. he and the Ti-Cats will return home to take on the Alouettes on Friday.

September 6, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 28 of 35 passes for 359 yards and four touchdowns with one interception in Monday's win over the Argos.

The Ti-Cats were down 36-24 late in the third quarter before Collaros engineered a comeback that included two of his TDs and a two-point conversion toss to Andy Fantuz. The 28-year-old QB has been all but unstoppable since returning to action four games ago, piling up 1510 passing yards and a ridiculous 14:2 TD:INT ratio. Collaros will get another chance to exploit the Argos' secondary Sunday in Toronto.

August 29, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 34 of 53 passes for 439 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Stampeders.

He's been the most productive QB in the CFL since getting back into the lineup after his knee injury, throwing for 1151 yards and a 10:1 TD:INT in just three games. Expect Collaros to put on another aerial show next Monday when the Ti-Cats host the Argos.

August 21, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros completed 23 of 30 passes for 381 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 53-7 rout of the Roughriders.

That's two impressive games over his first two weeks for Collaros, who was sidelined with a knee injury until returning last Saturday versus the Lions. The 27-year-old made the 331-yard performance he mustered in that contest look like a mere warmup Saturday, torching the Roughriders secondary with ease throughout the game. Collaros connected with veteran Chad Owens for a pair of touchdowns, and hit Terrence Toliver, Andy Fantuz and Brandon Banks for one apiece as well. The final stat line gives Collaros a whopping 712 yards and seven touchdowns over just two games, with the Ti-Cats passing game has clearly reached a gear it was unable to when backup Jeremiah Masoli was behind center for the first six games of the season. Collaros will look to keep the momentum going when he takes on the Stamps in Week 10 in what could be a shootout.

August 14, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (knee) made a successful return to game action Saturday, completing 24 of 40 passes for 331 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in a 45-38 loss to the Lions. He also gained 13 yards on two rushes and lost a fumble.

His season debut went well overall, with Collaros completing passes to five different receivers throughout the night and generally showing minimal rust. Things did get off to a rough start for him, however, when he was sacked on his first play and lost a handle on the football. He rebounded on the second drive with big completions to Luke Tasker and Chad Owens, and generally was effective the rest of the way. Collaros will look to build on his 2016 debut when the Ti-Cats do battle with the Roughriders next week.

August 9, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (knee) will start Saturday's game against the Lions.

Collaros hasn't appeared this season due to needing to further recover from knee surgery. He will replace Jeremiah Masoli as Hamilton's starting quarterback for all future games this season if he experiences no setbacks on Saturday.

August 9, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (knee) is on track to start Saturday's game against the Lions, the Hamilton Specator reports.

Collaros has not appeared in a game this season while completing his recovery from knee surgery, but he took the first-team reps at Monday's practice, which indicates he is set to make his 2016 debut this weekend. Barring any setbacks over the next few days, expect Collaros to replace Jeremiah Masoli as the Tiger-Cats' starting quarterback, both this week and moving forward.

July 30, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (knee) will not play in Wednesday's game against the Blue Bombers, TSN's Matthew Scianitti reports.

Collaros is taking the final steps in his recovery from knee surgery and is nearly ready to get back on the field, but he will sit out at least one more week. He should have a chance to make his season debut in the Tiger-Cats' Week 8 matchup with the Lions given that that game does not come until August 13.

July 29, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Head coach Kent Austin said Friday that Collaros (knee) "is close" to being ready to play, but still needs to be medically cleared to do so, TSN's Matthew Scianitti reports.

It was thought that Collaros could be ready for the Tiger-Cats' next game Wednesday, but given where he stands as of Friday, it seems he may sidelined at least another week. If Collaros remains inactive in Week 7, Jeremiah Masoli would receive another start for the Tiger-Cats.

July 22, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (knee) is not listed on the team's depth chart for Saturday's contest against the Eskimos, Drew Edwards of the Hamilton Spectator reports.

Collaros is still not ready to return to game action, while Jeremiah Masoli is in line to make another start at quarterback for the Tiger-Cats. Collaros' next opportunity to return appears to be Aug. 3 against Winnipeg.

July 19, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (knee) doesn't appear likely to return to action this week against the Eskimos, Drew Edwards of 3DownNation.com reports.

Collaros returned to practice over a week ago after he was taken off of the six-game injury list, but his opportunity to take the field may be delayed another week, as Jeremiah Masoli continues to take first-team reps in practice. Masoli has been hit-or-miss this season, following up impressive starts with lackluster ones the next week, leaving the door is open for Collaros to take over under center once he is fully healed. Look for an official decision regarding Hamilton's quarterbacks to be announced when the Tiger-Cats release their game-day depth chart sometime in the next couple days.

July 14, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (knee) will be on the one-game injured list for Friday's game against the Alouettes.

Collaros was activated from the 6-game injured list earlier this week and was able to get on the practice field, but he is not ready to return to game action just yet. Fellow quarterback Jeremiah Masoli has held down the fort with Collaros on the sidelines, but Collaros will have a good chance to regain the starting quarterback spot once he is healthy enough to play.

July 12, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (knee) returned to practice on Monday, Drew Edwards of the Hamilton Spectator reports.

Over eight months ago Collaros underwent surgery to repair his right knee and is now almost fully recovered and ready to return to the field. In order to make room for Collaros on the depth chart, the Tiger-Cats traded Jake Waters to the Roughriders over the weekend.

June 23, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros (knee) will open the season on the 6-game injured list.

Collaros is still working his way back from a knee injury that ended his 2015 campaign, and he will miss at least the first six regular-season games this year while his recovery continues. Jeremiah Masoli will begin the season as Hamilton's starting quarterback.

June 21, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Collaros will miss the beginning of the regular season while he continues to recover from a knee injury he suffered last September, CBC Sports reports.

Collaros will miss Hamilton's season opener Thursday, and it's not clear when he will be ready to play next. With Collaros sidelined, Jeremiah Masoli is in line to open the 2016 campaign as the Tiger-Cats' starting quarterback.
