RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 23-of-43 pass attempts for 333 yards and one interception in Thursday's 18-13 loss to Saskatchewan. He also added 60 yards on five carries.

Masoli's ninth straight 300-yard passing effort tied the all-time CFL mark, but it wasn't enough for the win. Despite etching his name in the history books, it may be a game the 29-year-old would prefer to forget as repeated missed opportunities and Charleston Hughes' second-quarter sack-fumble return for a touchdown proved to be the difference in the game. The CFL passing leader will have a Week 5 bye to think about it and look to make the record all his own when the Ticats return home for a Week 6 rematch against the Roughriders.

June 29, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 31 of 41 passes for 369 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Tiger-Cats' 31-17 win over the Blue Bombers on Friday. He also rushed twice for six yards.

Masoli was outstanding for the third time in as many games to open the season, and he notched his eighth straight 300-yard passing game overall, extending a streak that dates back to the 2017 campaign. The veteran saw three of his pass catchers eclipse the 80-yard mark through the air, with Brandon Banks (11 receptions, 111 yards) serving as his top target. Although he was quiet on the ground Friday, Masoli also brings plenty of rushing upside, as he demonstrated when he tallied 59 yards on seven carries in Week 2. The 29-year-old will look to extend his stellar play against the Roughriders in Week 4.

June 23, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 19-of-29 pass attempts for 332 yards and three touchdowns to go with one interception in Friday's 38-21 win over Edmonton. He also carried the ball seven times for 59 yards.

Two games, two 300-plus yard passing efforts for Masoli. The Eskimos had no answer for the 29-year-old, who is on his way to a breakout season if he can maintain the pace he's been on since late 2017. He'll need to keep it up to prevent offseason pickup Johnny Manziel from overtaking him. The Ticats will return home to take on Winnipeg in Week 3.

June 16, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 25 of 36 passes for 344 yards with no touchdowns and one interception in the Tiger-Cats' 28-14 loss to the Stampeders on Saturday. He rushed twice for 12 yards and scored a rushing touchdown while also losing a fumble.

The final stat line looked very impressive on the surface, but Masoli was unable to parlay his lofty passing totals into much scoring. The veteran signal caller did show encouraging synergy with receivers Mike Jones and Jalen Saunders, connecting with the pair for a combined 12 receptions for 238 yards on the afternoon. Masoli's one interception was a back-breaker, however, as he was picked off by Brandon Smith on an ill-advised pass with 2:05 remaining and the Tiger-Cats driving for a potential go-ahead touchdown. Masoli will look to put the game-deciding error behind him when Hamilton tangles with the Eskimos in a Week 2 showdown.

June 4, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli will not play in the team's final preseason game Saturday against Montreal, Matthew Scianitti of TSN reports.

Masoli received a two-year contract extension in January as a nod from the front office that he would be the man under center moving forward, so Masoli's absence from the last preseason game will be more as a precaution rather than a message. Last season with the Tiger-Cats, he threw for 3,177 yards and nine touchdowns as the starter. His replacement for Saturday has yet to be announced, leaving the door open for anybody from the group of Johnny Manziel, Vernon Adams Jr. or Bryant Moniz to get the chance. Regardless of who starts, all three will receive playing time.

January 4, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli signed a two-year contract with Hamilton on Thursday.

Just a day after the team traded Zach Collaros to the Roughriders, Masoli received a vote of confidence from the organization with this new deal. The 29-year-old began 2017 as the backup, but he wound up starting 10 games for the team once he was announced as the starter in early September. Over the course of the year, Masoli threw for 3,177 yards and 15 touchdowns, while rushing for 446 yards and adding four scores on the ground.

November 4, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 28 of 37 passes for 318 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in Friday's 33-0 season-ending win over the Alouettes. He also gained 88 yards and scored a touchdown on seven rushes.

Masoli capped off a memorable second-half run as starter with his fifth straight game of more than 300 yards passing. The 29-year-old signal caller managed to rack up 3,177 yards and 15 touchdowns in 12 games this season and rescued an offense that had been inconsistent at best under quarterback Zach Collaros. Masoli should have an unquestioned grip on the starting job heading into next year's training camp, and the expected return of talented receiver Terrence Toliver (knee) should only serve to brighten Masoli's own fantasy prospects in 2018.

October 27, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 32 of 46 passes for 438 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in Friday's 41-36 loss to the Redblacks. He also gained seven yards on three rushes.

Masoli posted season bests across the board and connected with the duo of Brandon Banks and Luke Tasker for a whopping 25 receptions for 332 yards and three touchdowns. He also hit Jalen Saunders with a scoring strike and now has multiple touchdown throws in five of his last six contests. Masoli has been playing the best football of his career since being named the starter over Zach Collaros in Week 11, and he'll look to close out the season on a strong note when the Tiger-Cats face off with the Alouettes in Week 20.

October 22, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 19 of 28 passes for 320 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 43-16 win over the Alouettes. He also rushed four times for 28 yards.

Masoli continues to display impressive improvement in his current run as starter, as he's now logged 300-yard passing efforts in three straight games. The 29-year-old quarterback has thrown for multiple touchdowns in four of the last five contests as well, leading to a solid 10:5 TD:INT ratio on the season. He retains an excellent chance of surpassing the career-best 2,695 yards he accumulated last season, a goal he'll try to achieve against the Redblacks in Week 19.

October 13, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 24 of 41 passes for 326 yards with no touchdowns and one interception in Friday's 28-25 loss to the Stampeders. He also totaled 29 yards and a touchdown on eight rushes.

Despite a matchup against the CFL's stingiest defense, Masoli still put together an impressive performance that included his second consecutive 300-yard tally. The mobile signal caller did fail to throw a touchdown pass for the first time since Week 12, but he was able to score on the ground for the first time since Week 8. Despite the disappointing team outcome, Masoli continues to show encouraging development behind center, impressively connecting with three different pass catchers for at least 76 yards receiving. He'll look to keep the Tiger-Cats' faint playoff hopes alive versus the Alouettes in Week 18.

October 6, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 27 of 33 passes for 338 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Friday's 30-13 win over the Blue Bombers. He also gained 48 yards on eight rushes and completed a two-point conversion pass.

Masoli continues to make the most of his opportunity as a starter, now having compiled a 7:2 TD:INT ratio through four contests. The 29-year-old connected with Brandon Banks on a 60-yard touchdown pass on the Tiger-Cats' third offensive play and then wrapped up the night with a three-yard scoring toss to Luke Tasker in the fourth quarter. Masoli also continued to demonstrate his rushing upside, which has served as an excellent supplement to his fantasy production. He'll look to extend his strong stretch of play against a tough Stampeders defense in Week 17.

September 30, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 18 of 32 passes for 288 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 43-35 overtime loss to the Argonauts. He also rushed five times for 32 yards and completed a two-point conversion pass.

Masoli almost helped the Tiger-Cats pull off what would have been a significant upset with another impressive effort. The elusive signal caller connected with Brandon Banks for a 58-yard score on the second play of the contest and added a three-yard touchdown pass to Luke Tasker just before halftime. Masoli couldn't replicate that success in overtime, however, as he sandwiched incompletions to Shamawd Chambers and Jalen Saunders around a sack on Hamilton's final possession. Masoli has an impressive 5:2 TD:INT ratio over the last three weeks and will look to help his club bounce back versus the Blue Bombers in Week 16.

September 23, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 23 of 35 passes for 226 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Friday's 24-23 win over the Lions. He also gained six yards on two rushes.

Masoli continued his impressive multi-game run as a starter and fired multiple touchdowns for the first time this season. The veteran signal caller didn't have to do much of his trademark scrambling with RB Alex Green exploding for a 140-yard performance, but he did make a pair of pivotal connections with Shamawd Chambers and Luke Tasker on what turned out to be the game-winning drive. The change from Zach Collaros to Masoli behind center has helped lead to three victories in four games for the previously winless Tiger-Cats, a streak they'll look to extend against the Argonauts in Week 15.

September 15, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 28 of 48 passes for 328 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in Friday's 27-19 loss to the Roughriders. He also gained 62 yards on his nine rushes.

Despite the fact that the Ti-Cats' two-game winning streak was snapped, Masoli once again validated his spot as the team's starting quarterback with another productive performance. Masoli was particularly iimpressive on the ground for the second straight contest, while his passing yardage represented a season high. He also helped Hamilton bounce back from a 27-10 deficit before coming up short, misfiring on an end-zone pass to Jalen Saunders as time expired. Despite the disappointing outcome, Masoli has proven to be a cost-effective DFS option since becoming the starter, and he'll look to continue producing versus the Lions in Week 14.

September 10, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 17 of 31 passes for 231 yards and added seven carries for 73 yards in Saturday's 26-22 win over the Redblacks.

That's now two wins in a row for the Ti-Cats with Masoli under center, although his passing production has been lacking. He and C.J. Gable combined for 147 rushing yards in this one, and that will likely remain the focus on Hamilton's offense next week when they host Saskatchewan, making Masoli a risky fantasy play given his apparently limited ceiling through the air.

September 5, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 19 of 33 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown with one interception in Monday's 24-22 win over the Argos.

It wasn't a particularly productive game for the 29-year-old, but the fact that he was able to lead the Ti-Cats to their first win of the season likely buys Masoli some job security as the starting QB. Expect him to remain under center for next Saturday's road game in Ottawa.

August 29, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli will draw the start over Zach Callaros during Monday's matchup against the Argonauts, David William Naylor of TSN reports.

Masoli saw some snaps during Aug. 18's game against the Redblacks, as coach Kent Austin opted to pull Callaros following a fumble early in the fourth quarter. Now, after a bye week, it appears coach Austin has opted to make a switch to his winless team's offense, changing quarterbacks. On the season, Masoli is 14-of-27 for 145 yards in his limited action. He appeared in 10 games for the team last year, going 230-of-332 for 2,695 yards, 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

August 18, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed seven of 12 passes for 68 yards and netted zero yards on his sole rush in Friday's 37-18 loss to the Redblacks.

Masoli checked into the contest following Zach Collaros' fumble early in the fourth quarter, which was returned by the Redblacks for a touchdown. The 28-year-old has looked solid in the two games he's seen action in this season, completing 14 of 27 passes for 145 yards overall. It remains to be seen if head coach Kent Austin will opt to make a change behind center during next week's bye, but given that the Ti-Cats are still seeking their first victory, it wouldn't exactly be a high-risk move.

July 30, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed seven of 15 passes for 77 yards with no touchdowns and an interception in Saturday's 60-1 loss to the Stamps. He also gained 43 yards on three rushes.

Masoli got his first taste of 2017 regular-season action beginning late in the third quarter and acquitted himself fairly well in garbage time. The mobile veteran was serviceable last season in starting 10 games while Zach Collaros recovered from injury, throwing for 2,695 yards and compiling a 15:12 TD:INT ratio. With the Ti-Cats' season seemingly going nowhere, Masoli could potentially see a start or two down the road as a change-of-pace option.

June 19, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli will open the season as the Tiger-Cats' backup quarterback behind starter Zach Collaros.

Masoli opened last season as the Tiger-Cats' starting quarterback with Collaros completing his recovery from knee surgery, and even though Collaros reclaimed the starter's job when he returned, Masoli still appeared in 10 games and completed 69.3 percent of his passes. He provides quality insurance in the event that Collaros, who has never played more than 14 games in a season, misses any action in 2017.

October 29, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli was back in a reserve role in Friday's 29-26 loss to the Eskimos due to the return of Zach Collaros (concussion), but still gained four yards and a touchdown on five rushes.

Masoli performed admirably in the Week 18 overtime victory over the Redblacks, amassing 359 yards and three touchdowns through the air. He worked exclusively on the ground Friday with Collaros back in the fold, plunging into the end zone with 1:09 left in the game to get the Ti-Cats within three points. Although the comeback fell short, Masoli continues to be used often near the goal line due to his mobility, but his fantasy production is simply too capped and unpredictable whenever he plays exclusively in that role.

October 22, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 27 of 41 passes for 359 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in Friday's 39-36 overtime victory over the Redblacks. He also gained four yards on his sole rush.

Masoli got the start again with Zach Collaros (concussion) still sidelined and was able to lead the Ti-Cats to the key comeback victory. His night hit a rough patch after some early completions, with Masoli suffering a pair of interceptions, including one where he under-threw a wide open John Chiles in the end zone. However, the 28-year-old got back on track from that point forward, matching veteran Henry Burris' own stellar performance and ultimately helping Hamilton secure the overtime win. Masoli has filled in admirably for Collaros the last two weeks, completing 52 of 73 passes for 637 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions over that span and keeping Hamilton's hopes for an East Division title alive. It remains to be seen if Collaros will be ready to return for the Week 19 matchup against the Eskimos.

October 17, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli will start Friday's Week 18 matchup with the Redblacks, 3DownNation reports.

Masoli started against the Redblacks in Week 17 with fellow quarterback Zach Collaros (concussion) out, and he will fill the same role again this week with Collaros not ready to return. Masoli and the Tiger-Cats fell by just one point last week, but Masoli was productive from a fantasy standpoint, throwing for 278 yards and three touchdowns while adding 22 more yards on the ground.

October 15, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 25 of 32 passes for 278 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in Friday's 30-29 loss to the Redblacks. He also gained 22 yards on three rushes.

With Zach Collaros (concussion) out, Masoli put together an impressive performance that was only marred by the pair of picks he threw. The 28-year-old posted his third three-touchdown game of the season overall and has looked solid since coming into the Week 16 contest in relief. If Collaros is unable to get clearance in time for Week 18, Masoli will take another crack at the Ottawa secondary in the second game of a home-and-home series.

October 11, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli will start at quarterback in Friday's game against the Redblacks, CFL.ca reports.

Masoli will get the nod this week with regular starter Zach Collaros sidelined with a concussion. Masoli replaced an injured Collaros in Week 15 and saw his first action since Week 9, but he did start the first six games of the season and led the Tiger-Cats to a 3-3 record while throwing for 1,867 yards and tallying eight touchdowns to eight interceptions.

October 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 16 of 28 passes for 151 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and added 26 yards and a touchdown on four rushes in Saturday's 36-17 loss to the Stamps.

The mobile veteran came in after Zach Collaros suffered an upper body injury and was able to tally a rushing score in the blowout loss. If Collaros is unable to play following the Week 16 bye, Masoli would presumably get the call against the Redblacks. In starting the first six games of the season for Collaros, Masoli tallied three 300-yard performances and eight touchdowns against eight interceptions.

September 25, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli garnered 32 yards and a touchdown on four rushes in Saturday's 20-18 loss to the Roughriders.

The mobile signal-caller was deployed at running back Saturday and scored on a 21-yard scamper in the fourth quarter that gave the Ti-Cats a momentary 18-17 lead that would eventually evaporate. Masoli has received 12 carries over the last four weeks, totaling 58 yards and three touchdowns over that span.

August 10, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli will move into a backup role this week against the Lions with Zach Collaros (knee) making his season debut.

Masoli struggled during a Week 7 loss to the Blue Bombers, when he threw three interceptions and also lost a fumble. He'll likely spend the remainder of the season as Collaros' backup, given Collaros doesn't suffer a setback in his return from knee surgery.

August 4, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 27 of 46 passes for 335 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions in Wednesday's 37-11 loss to the Blue Bombers. He also lost a fumble.

The 27-year-old went from setting a new CFL record for consecutive completions just 10 days prior to struggling through a season-high three interceptions. Masoli particularly ran into problems in the first half, beginning with a pick-six by Winnipeg's C.J. Roberts on a pass intended for Brandon Banks. He was then stripped of the ball on a sack later in the first quarter, and suffered another interception on a tipped pass in the second period. Masoli's final miscue came when all hope had been lost, as Blue Bombers linebacker Ian Wild stepped in front of a throw with five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The University of Mississippi product has provided mixed results over the Ti-Cats' first six games, collecting over 300 yards in four of them but also throwing multiple interceptions in three of those contests. With former starter Zach Collaros (knee) reportedly ready to play in Week 8, Masoli's days running the offense may be over for the time being.

July 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 31 of 38 passes-- including a CFL-record 23 straight-- for 391 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in Saturday's 37-31 victory over the Eskimos. He also gained two yards on his sole rush and completed a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter.

A week after an effective but unremarkable performance in a win against the Als, Masoli bounced back with the best effort of his professional career. The 28-year-old led a furious rally in the second half, hitting wideouts Luke Tasker and Andrew Fantuz for a combined 17 catches, 226 yards and two touchdowns and also finding Terrence Tolliver for another score. He also had a key two-point conversion to Chris Owens in the fourth quarter. Masoli has now alternated 300-yard passing games over the Ti-Cats' first five games, and amassed 1532 yards and eight touchdowns to date this season. Hamilton will have a bye in Week 6, and it remains to be seen if he'll get the starting call in Week 7 if former starter Zach Collaros (knee) is ready to return to action.

July 19, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli is likely to start Thursday against Edmonton, Drew Edwards of 3DownNation.com reports.

There have been rumblings that Zach Collaros (knee) could be healthy enough to return to the field after he began practicing over a week ago, but Masoli continues to take first-team reps in practice, indicating he'll likely be under center Thursday night. Look for an official decision to be announced when the Tiger-Cats release their game-day depth chart within the next two days.

July 16, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 19 of 27 passes for 208 yards and an interception in Friday's 31-7 win over the Alouettes.

Defense ruled the game through the first half, but the Tiger-Cats eventually pulled it out thanks to their special teams. Masoli picked a bad time to have a poor game, as Zach Collaros (knee) is getting close to returning to action. Hamilton next plays in Edmonton on July 23 and there's no guarantee Masoli will be under center for them.

July 8, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 29 of 39 passes for 367 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in Thursday's 28-24 loss to the Blue Bombers. He also gained 13 yards on his three rushes and lost a fumble.

The veteran quarterback amassed plenty of yards, but his untimely turnovers cost the Tiger-Cats dearly. One of Masoli's interceptions was returned by the Blue Bombers' Maurice Leggett for a 50-yard touchdown, and his lost fumble with 10 seconds remaining at the Winnipeg 22-yard line off a sack sealed the victory for the Blue Bombers. He also had trouble generating any type of consistent offense in the first half, with Hamilton's only score over that span coming on Brandon Banks' return of a missed field goal by Justin Medlock. Masoli will continue to man the Tiger-Cats offense until the return of starter Zach Collaros (knee), and will face off against the Als in Week 4.

July 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 26 of 39 passes for 248 yards and two interceptions in Friday's loss to the Lions.

The Tiger-Cats offense just couldn't get anything going, and in addition to the two picks Masoli got sacked four times as Hamilton managed to score just three points. He should be able to put up better numbers next week at home against the Blue Bombers.

June 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed 27 of 37 passes for 318 yards and three touchdowns in Thursday's season-opening 42-20 win over the Argos.

He spread the ball around effectively, as four different Tiger-Cats wound up with between 50 and 99 receiving yards and three different WRs caught the scores. Masoli will only have the starting QB job until Zach Collaros (knee) returns to action, but it doesn't look like the potent Hamilton offense will take a step back while Masoli in under center.

June 23, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli will start at quarterback in Thursday's season opener against the Argonauts.

Masoli had to earn the starting job during training camp, and he did just that by showing well both during practice and in the Tiger-Cats' two preseason games.

June 18, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Masoli completed nine of 15 passes for 136 yards and a touchdown in Friday's preseason win over the Redblacks.

He handily outplayed Jeff Matthews in the preseason finale, and Masoli appears to be clearly in the lead for Hamilton's starting QB spot while Zach Collaros continues to recover from his torn ACL. The Tiger-Cats offense led the CFL in passing yards and TDs in 2015, so they have the weapons to allow Masoli to produce while he's under center.
