With star tight end Chase Rogers (foot) out for the season, Barnes and Lumpkin will have to step into the big hole left in the offense by the former high school All-American. Barnes has the benefit of experience entering his sixth season at UL-Lafayette after a redshirt freshman season and a medical hardship waiver in 2015 with a knee injury. Last season for the Cajuns, the tight end took five catches for 40 yards in three games.
