Cleared for individual drills
QBGeorgia
Head
August 2, 2019
Mathis has been cleared for passing and individual drills, Seth Emerson of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathis isn't ready for contact yet, but he has the okay to work on some non-contact drills. The freshman signal-caller underwent brain surgery to remove a cyst in late May and looks to be on a good path to recovery. While he's unlikely to see reps under center in 2019, there's a chance he could compete for the starting job next season if Jake Fromm decides to turn pro early.
