2018 Fantasy Outlook
A third-round pick in 2016, Vannett hasn't had much opportunity to do anything with the Seahawks, playing behind Jimmy Graham and Luke Willson the last two years. Graham and Willson are gone, leaving Vannett in spot where he can actually contribute this season. Seattle signed veteran Ed Dickson and drafted Will Dissly in the fourth round, but both of those tight ends are blockers first. At 6-5, 261, Vannett is the biggest of the trio. The Seahawks likely won't pass as much at the goal line this season, but when they do, Vannett could get his number called. Read Past Outlooks

Snags one pass in loss

Vannett hauled in one of two targets for five yards in Saturday's wild-card loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Vannett has served as a check-down asset for quarterback Russell Wilson for much of this season, and his lone catch was in similar fashion. This season's output for Vannett surpasses that of the tight end's first two campaigns, as he compiled 29 catches for 269 yards and three touchdowns. He'll turn 26 years old in March and enter the final year of his contract in 2019, when he'll compete with both Ed Dickson and Will Dissly -- the latter had a promising start to his rookie year before injuring his kneecap -- for a No. 1 tight end role.

How often does Nick Vannett run a route when on the field for a pass play?
This data will let you see how Nick Vannett and the other tight ends for the Seahawks are being used. Some tight ends may have a lot of snaps, but they're not that useful for fantasy purposes because they're not actually running routes. This data will help you see when this is the case.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2017
2016
Vannett is expected to be the third tight end again this season. That doesn't mean much, though, with Jimmy Graham and Luke Willson around. Vannett caught three passes in nine games last season. Expect more of the same this season.
The Seahawks selected Vannett in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft with the hope that he'll provide additional run-blocking support, so he likely won't be used much in the passing game, thus limiting his fantasy value. Jimmy Graham and Luke Willson are the clear top-2 pass-catching options at tight end, but Vannett could boost the production of running back Thomas Rawls with his blocking power.
