DraftKings NHL: Monday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Robin Lehner, NYI at BUF ($7,300): Lehner has been the league's best goalie over the past two weeks, going 4-0-0 with a .981 save percentage, including a 36-save shutout against the Leafs. Plagued by injuries during his three seasons in Buffalo, Lehner has rebounded with a career-low 2.21 GAA and faces his former team for the first time. The Sabres have won just once in their past five games and the Islanders offense has provided good goal support recently.

CENTER

Connor McDavid, EDM vs. WPG ($7,900): With two goals and five assists in his past three games, McDavid can only do so much by himself. The Oilers continue to lose but McDavid continues to score, and the Jets aren't as good this year. With six points in two games against the Jets this season already, McDavid should find the scoresheet easily. The Jets are without Dustin Byfuglien, as well.

Dylan Larkin, DET vs. FLA ($6,400): He doesn't get talked about enough as a No. 1 center and two-way player, but Larkin is really having a breakout season. He's scored 38 points in 40 games, playing more minutes than ever before while winning more than half of his faceoffs. He enters the game on a 13-game point streak, and expected starter Roberto Luongo has a 3.07 GAA this season.

WING

Elias Lindholm, CGY vs. SJ ($6,600): He's riding shotgun with Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau, and while it's not hard to put up points playing with them, Lindholm's underlying numbers suggest he's legitimately a great player who's perhaps even a little unlucky because he should have more than 41 points. The Sharks are talented but susceptible to the odd bad game, and at this price Lindholm is worth the gamble, especially since expected starter Martin Jones has allowed 13 goals in four games.

Leon Draisaitl, EDM vs. WPG ($6,200): It's slightly baffling Draisaitl is available at this price relative to his talent and who he gets to play with. With 4.4 FPPG, he's 11th among available wingers, and in a straight bet on point production I would take Draisaitl over Cam Atkinson (3rd) or Gabriel Landeskog (4th). This is an opportunity to line stack against a team that's been overrated for much of the season and missing Big Buff.

Anthony Beauvillier, NYI at BUF ($3,500): We took a chance on him Friday against the Sens and we'll do it again. The speedy sniper has two assists in his past two games and skated over 16 minutes in each of his past three, all of which have been wins. Against the Sabres, Beauvillier will face Carter Hutton (who has lost five straight), an offense that has suddenly gone very quiet and a defense that has some slow rearguards.

DEFENSE

Zach Werenski, CLS vs. OTT ($4,600): He's on a four-game point streak and faces one of the league's worst teams. Werenski is a value play at this price considering who he's priced with: Ryan Pulock, Dougie Hamilton and Mike Matheson — none of which are in Werenski's class in terms of skill and on-ice impact. Seth Jones ($5,900) is obviously the safer pick, but you'll have to pay for it.

Max Lajoie, OTT at CLS ($3,900): With news that Thomas Chabot will be out for three weeks, Lajoie will be the new guy leading the group. He's averaged over 22 minutes in his past two games and quarterbacks the first power-play unit, having as good a year as any of the top rookies not named Elias Pettersson.
