FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

It's the final Saturday of March, and the NHL is pulling out all the stops. There are 12 games, which means the bulk of the league is in action. You've got a lot of options, but here are my recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup. Also, in full disclosure, I had intended this to be solely recommendations for the evening slate of games, but ESPN erroneously had the Bruins-Panthers game listed as being at 7:00 PM ET. It is at 1:00 PM ET, but it's a favorable matchup for Boston, and the recommendations were already written, so...

GOALIE

Mikko Koskinen, EDM vs. ANA ($7,500): Koskinen's performance has been erratic this year, but he's posted a 2.57 GAA and .912 save percentage over his last 10 home starts. This is mostly about the matchup though, as the Ducks have only averaged 2.13 goals and 26.5 shots on net per road contest while playing their second game in as many nights.

CENTER

David Krejci, BOS vs. FLA ($6,000): Krejci has tallied 12 points in his last 12 games, giving him 67 points on the season. He's closing in on both 20 goals and 50 assists, and recently he's had Jake DeBrusk and David Pastrnak on his wings. As for the Panthers, they have struggled to a 3.80 road GAA to go along with an .877 team save percentage.

Brock Nelson, NYI vs. BUF ($5,900): Nelson has quietly benefited the most from John Tavares's departure. His minutes soared, and he has posted a career-high 50 points in 78 games. Now he's taking on a Sabres team that sports a league-worst 3.89 GAA since the All-Star break.

WING

Brady Tkachuk, OTT vs. TOR ($6,000): Tkachuk has taken on a sizable offensive role since the trade deadline. He's notched nine points over his last 14 games, but he's also put 60 shots on goal. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs have had defensive issues all of March with a 3.69 GAA.

Jake DeBrusk, BOS vs. FLA ($5,700): DeBrusk has continued the form he was showing prior to his injury, with three points in his last five games. That includes two goals, giving him 24 on the season. He could easily add to that total against a Panthers team with a 3.80 road GAA.

Kasperi Kapanen, TOR at OTT ($4,300): Speaking of shots, Kapanen has put 19 shots on goal over his last five games. He hasn't lit the lamp, but he does have 19 goals in 73 contests. The Senators have not been stingy on the shots allowed, as they've given up 35.9 shots per game on the season.

DEFENSE

Erik Gustafsson, CHI at LOS ($6,200): Gustafsson has been a surprise success this year, obliterating previous personal bests with 16 goals and 55 points. He's been helped by his increased role on the power play, as he's notched 17 points with the extra man. The Kings' penalty kill is slightly better than Chicago's, but it still ranks 29th in the NHL.

Darnell Nurse, EDM vs. ANA ($4,700): Nurse has notched eight goals on 182 shots, to go with 31 assists. While his power-play minutes have fluctuated, he's recorded nine points with the extra man. The Ducks enter with a 3.21 road GAA, and have given up 33.4 shots on net per game in those contests. Throw in the fact they are on the second night of a back-to-back, and it bodes well for Nurse.
