Jake Evans
22-Year-Old Left WingLW
2018 Fantasy Outlook
Evans was a four-year star at the University of Notre Dame, who improved each year for the Irish. He captained Notre Dame during this year's Frozen Four, where they lost the title game to the University of Minnesota-Duluth. If he weren't selected by the Canadiens in the seventh round of the 2014 draft, Evans would have gone higher this year. He played mostly on the wing in college but is capable of handling center duties if needed. Look for the Habs to try him out at center in AHL Laval. He's viewed as a well-rounded player with no obvious deficiencies and lauded for his hockey IQ. The 22-year-old underwent surgery for a sports hernia in May and was given a 12-week prognosis for recovery. Read Past Outlooks

Evans (concussion) has returned to practice with AHL Laval, Marc Antoine Godin of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It was a vicious hit that sidelined Evans during Habs' training camp, so it's somewhat surprising he has returned to action already. The youngster figures to spend the bulk of the year in the minors with the Rocket.
