DraftKings NHL: Saturday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Joonas Korpisalo, CLS at MIN ($7,200): While this is the second leg of a back-to-back set for Columbus, the Wild have five forwards out with injuries. It should prove to be a solid spot for the Blue Jackets and Korpisalo to stymie the Minnesota attack, and the netminder's salary offers tremendous cap relief. After allowing five goals in his season debut, expect Korpisalo to be scarcely owned, as well.

CENTER

Sidney Crosby, PIT vs. FLA ($7,900): With multi-point showings in home game this season and a favorable matchup on tap, Corsby is a high-floor, high-ceiling option. He's obviously locked into top offensive minutes in all situations, and No. 87 also has an impressive track record at PPG Paints Arena dating back to 2015-16 with 48 goals and 101 points through his past 79 regular-season home tilts.

Ryan Spooner, BOS at ARI ($3,900): A low-priced flier with upside, Spooner has been a staple on the No. 1 power-play unit to start the season. He's also climbed the depth chart and centered David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand for stretches, and while those aren't his projected linemates currently, and in-game line juggle could pay off handsomely. Additionally, this is a soft matchup with Arizona allowing 4.0 goals per game and missing No. 1 goalie Antti Raanta (lower body).

WING

Tyler Toffoli, LA vs. BUF ($5,500): The 25-year-old winger has 15 shots and a single goal (6.7 shooting percentage) through the first three games of the season and is locked into a top offensive role for the Kings. Buffalo is playing its second outing of a four-game road trip, and the Sabres have allowed 4.5 goals per contest through their four losses to start the campaign. It's probably fair to project this as a potential bounce-back spot for Buffalo, but Toffoli should also reward on his reasonable cap hit.

Clayton Keller, ARI vs. BOS ($4,800): The Bruins have allowed 13 goals through three games, and Arizona is chasing its first win of the season. Keller broke out with a two-goal showing last time out, and the rookie should see soft five-on-five matchups on the top line with Patrice Bergeron (lower body) likely playing at less than 100 percent, if at all. This is a ripe schedule spot for the Coyotes and Keller to howl.

Brock Boeser, VAN vs. CGY ($3,600): The rookie finally got into the lineup Thursday and posted an assist and two shots. He's priced for profit, and Boeser is locked into a scoring role. Additionally, the Flames will be playing their second game in consecutive nights after getting blanked by Ottawa on Friday. As long as Boeser sticks in the lineup, and he should, his salary will be 25 percent higher in short order.

DEFENSE

Brent Burns, SJ vs. NYI ($7,800): The Islanders are on the front end of a back-to-back road set on the West Coast, and have allowed at least three goals in each game this season. With a busy slate of games, Burns could carry a lower ownership percentage than usual, especially since he's off to a slow start. View this as a buy-low spot after he posted a league-best 2.2 points per 60 minutes among all defensemen last season.

John Klingberg, DAL vs. COL ($5,700): The Avalanche head to Dallas on the second leg of back-to-back games after downing the Ducks on Friday. It checks out as a solid matchup for Klingberg to stay hot, as he's found the scoresheet in each of the Stars' first four games of the campaign, recording two goals and three helpers. It's also encouraging that Klingberg is moving the fantasy needle in the peripheral categories with 15 shots and five blocked shots.
