FanDuel NHL: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Connor Hellebuyck, WPG vs MIN ($8,300): The Jets have been good at home with a 7-2-1 record. Conversely, the Wild are 5-6-1 on the road. Hellebuyck has been great in three of his last four starts, posting 28 or more fantasy points. He's been solid all season with a 12-2-2 record, 2.33 GAA and .929 save percentage. Hellebuyck is a good value in all formats.

Center

Mikko Koivu, MIN at WPG ($5,600): Koivu had his five-game point streak snapped last game, but he draws a good matchup Monday against the Jets. Seeing time as the first-line center and on the top power-play unit, Koivu is a great playmaker that also kills penalties. Koivu's salary allows the possibility of stacking him with teammate Mikael Granlund, who is pricey but has recorded points in eight of his last 11 games.

Artem Anisimov, CHI vs ANH ($5,600): Sliding in as the second-line center for Chicago, Anisimov has been a goal-scoring threat with 10 tallies on the season, five of which have come on the power play. He gets a bump in upside skating alongside Patrick Kane, as well. With Chicago playing well, going 6-3-1 over its last 10 — including 19 goals in the last five — Anisimov is a good value option.

Wing

Brandon Saad, CHI vs ANH ($5,800): Saad has been streaky this year, including going 10 games without a goal. In the Blackhawks' last game, he had a goal and an assist, which were just his second and third points in his last six games. He's in a good spot and provides a high volume of shots on goal, though. With Saad still seeing solid ice time (18 or more minutes in six of his last seven games), e's a good value at home Monday.

Kyle Connor, WPG vs MIN ($4,100): Connor skates on the first line with Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler and is averaging three shots on goal per game over his last eight. Over that span, he has three goals and an assist. At $4,100, though, his value jumps off the page considering his linemates and scoring chances.

Patric Hornqvist, PIT vs PHI ($5,600): While the Penguins have been without Evgeni Malkin of late, Hornqvist has been more aggressive in looking to get the puck into the back of the net. Over his last four games, he's averaging 4.25 shots per game but hasn't scored a goal over that span. He does, however, have assists in back-to-back games and is seeing a good amount of ice time.

Defense

Ivan Provorov, PHI at PIT ($4,500): With two goals and two assists in his last three games, Provorov now has four goals and eight helpers on the season. He's already a shot-blocking machine with 60 on the year, but the fact he offers offensive upside against a team that struggles against the position makes him one of my favorite values on the slate.

Cam Fowler, ANH at CHI ($4,600): In his four games back from injury, Fowler has posted two assists, four shots on goal, and 13 blocked shots. He recorded over 25 minutes of ice time in his last game, too, suggesting his conditioning is on point after his absence. Fowler is an offensive threat on the blue line and is priced lower than normal.
