FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

GOALIE

Tristan Jarry, PIT vs NYR ($7,900): Jarry has been good lately, other than a blemish against the Bruins. He's coming off of a 29-save win Saturday against the Red Wings in which he allowed one goal. With Matt Murray away from the team, Jarry will get the majority of the time between the pipes. The Penguins have been a much better team at home and this is a good spot to consider Jarry against the Rangers who are just 7-8-2 on the road.

CENTER

Mikko Koivu, MIN vs VAN ($5,700): Koivu has points in three of his last four games and draws a good matchup against the Canucks. In their last 11 games, Vancouver has allowed centers to bury 17 goals and dish out 20 assists. With his spot on the second line and top power-play unit for the Wild, he's underpriced and should exceed value.

Mika Zibanejad, NYR at PIT ($6,200):
Zibanejad has goals in two of his last three games skating on the first line and top power-play unit for the Rangers. After an embarrassing effort at home Saturday against the Islanders, the Rangers will look to bounce back at Pittsburgh, against which they scored eight goals in two games this season. Zibanejad has three points in his last two games against the Penguins.

WING

Patric Hornqvist, PIT vs NYR ($5,600): Hornqvist is severely underpriced and likely will be one of the highest-owned players on this slate. But ownership is not a huge factor on short slates, and I see no reason not to lock him in and move on. He's had tremendous success against the Rangers with a goal and an assist in each of his last two games vs. New York. He has 13 points (nine goals, four assists) in his last 16 games against New York.

Jason Zucker, MIN vs VAN ($6,100):
Zucker skates on a dangerous line with Mikko Koivu and Mikael Granlund and has points in three of his last five games. He's averaged three shots on goal in his last seven games as well. The Canucks have allowed a ton of production over their last 11 games to left wings with 16 goals and 27 assists surrendered.

Daniel Sedin, VAN at MIN ($5,900):
Daniel and his brother Henrik have played at an extremely high level for their entire NHL careers. They are still producing, skating on the top line along with budding superstar Brock Boeser. Daniel has points in each of his last four games with two goals and three assists. He's enjoyed success against the Wild as well with points in six of his last seven games against the Western Conference foe.

DEFENSE

Alexander Edler, VAN at MIN ($4,900): Edler has been an offensive force lately, beyond his three game point-scoring streak in which he has a goal and two assists. Over his last five games, he's averaged 5.2 shots on goal per game. The Wild have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to defensemen the last four weeks with 26 points surrendered in 12 games.

Ryan Suter, MIN vs VAN ($5,700):
The Canucks have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to defensemen the last four weeks. In his last three games, Suter has a goal and three assists and has averaged three shots on goal. He has 28 points this season, nine of which have come on the power play.
