DraftKings NHL: Sunday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

There are four NHL games Sunday night, and five of the teams in action are in the top seven in GAA. That's less than ideal for daily fantasy players, but there are still some solid options out there…

GOALIE

Connor Hellebuyck, WPG vs. NAS ($8,000): Normally a matchup with Nashville is far from appealing, but there are a couple things in Hellebuyck's favor here. Though the Predators have been good on the road, they had to play in Minnesota on Saturday so they are on the second night of a back-to-back. Plus, the Jets have won four in a row and are 28-7-2 at home. Oh, also Hellebuyck has a 2.34 GAA and .924 save percentage, so he could easily keep the Preds in check in this one.

CENTER

Tyler Seguin, DAL vs. VAN ($7,500): Seguin has had another great season. He's notched 39 goals on a whopping 309 shots and added 32 assists for good measure. The Canucks, on the other hand, have a 3.24 GAA. You probably don't need to be told Seguin is awesome, but Dallas has no real depth at center and this is the best matchup any team has Sunday. It's worth spending the extra cash.

Adam Henrique, ANA at EDM ($4,500):Ryan Getzlaf is dealing with an illness, and if he's out again, Henrique will likely remain the top-line center for the Ducks. Even if he isn't, the 28-year-old still has 20 goals, 23 assists, and 11 power-play points this season. The Oilers have a 3.18 GAA, but they are also on the second night of a back-to-back. Additionally, Edmonton has the 30th-ranked penalty kill.

WING

David Pastrnak, BOS at MIN ($6,700): Pastrnak has been hot, posting 17 points and 46 shots on net over his last 12 games. He's also averaged 3:07 per contest with the extra man, tallying 20 power-play points in 73 games. The Wild are on the second night of a back-to-back and have a 3.18 team GAA on no days of rest. They also have the 19th-ranked penalty kill.

Alexander Radulov, DAL vs. VAN ($5,900): Radulov has started 56.7 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, second highest on the Stars. That favorable positioning has worked out, as the Russian has 26 goals and 39 assists in 75 games. The Canucks have a 3.24 GAA, but since the All-Star break that has climbed to 3.35, and they have also given up 33.2 shots on net per contest in that time.

Nick Ritchie, ANA at EDM ($3,000): Over his last five games, Ritchie has two goals and an assist. Now he gets to go up against an Oilers team that has a 3.39 GAA at home. Edmonton also is on the second night of a back-to-back, which could mean Al Montoya (3.42 GAA, .889 save percentage) in net. If you spend big on reliable names, somebody like Ritchie could provide some bang for your buck.

DEFENSEMEN

Darnell Nurse, EDM vs. ANA ($4,500): Nurse has put 178 shots on net, third most on the Oilers. However, the man in second, Oscar Klefbom, is now injured, which is giving Nurse more minutes and more power-play time. The Ducks have gotten great goaltending, but one thing they haven't done well is prevent shots. Anaheim has allowed 33.5 shots on net per game, so Nurse should at least be able to put a few pucks on net.

Esa Lindell, DAL vs. VAN ($3,500): Lindell has notched seven goals and 19 assists in 73 games, and he has eight points with the extra man. As previously noted, the Canucks have a 3.35 GAA since the All-Star break. They also have the 22nd-ranked penalty kill, so perhaps Lindell with have some more power-play luck.
