Anastasia Yankova

Loses undefeated record at Bellator 200
FlyweightBellator
May 25, 2018
Yankov lost to Kate Jackson via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 29-27) at Bellator 200 on Friday in London.
ANALYSIS
Bellator seemed intent to promote Yankova in her early career with the promotion. However, in this fight, she faced her toughest fight to date and did not rise to the occasion. She struggled to stop the grappling attack of Jackson the entire fight. It is easy to say that Yankova is a striker and not prepared for a grappling battle. However, in her previous Bellator fights, she did a lot of her best work in the clinch and on the ground. She falls to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in Bellator.

Scores convincing decision win in Italy
FlyweightBellator
April 8, 2017
Yankova defeated Elina Kallionidou via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 20-27) at Bellator 176 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Yankova controlled the fight from the opening bell, closing down her opponent with strikes before wearing her down against the cage. While there wasn't much in the way of damage on either side, Yankova was significantly more active and aggressive, making her the clear winner. She remains undefeated in her MMA career (5-0), but Yankova missed weight by three pounds, meaning she has been defeated by the scale in all three of her fights in Bellator thus far. Whether she will remain a flyweight or move up a weight class remains to be seen.
Survives scare against Veta Arteaga and remains undefeated

September 16, 2016
Yankova defeated Veta Arteaga via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) at Bellator 161 on Friday in Cedar Park, Texas.
ANALYSIS
From Bellator's perspective, this fight was bad news despite the outcome. The company put their full promotional efforts behind Yankova and allowed her to come in six pounds above the 125-pound limit. Clearly, they were trying to push her as the next big female MMA star. In the fight, Yankova was rocked multiple times in the first round and struggled to come back in the next. She righted the ship in the third round with a nice front kick and some solid work in the clinch. In the end, she did enough to sway two of the three judges and take home the decision. With the victory, Yankova improved to 4-0 as a professional and 2-0 in Bellator.
