RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Rosa will no longer fight Dan Ige at UFC 220 on Jan. 20 after recently suffering an undisclosed injury, Danny Segura of reports.

The specifics of Rosa's injury have not been revealed, but it's apparently serious enough to keep the Massachusetts-native from entering the Octagon later this month in his home state. Julio Arce will take Rosa's place at the event and square off against Dan Ige, who will be making his promotional debut.

Rosa lost to Shane Burgos via TKO (punches) at 1:59 of Round 3 at UFC 210 on Saturday in Buffalo.

Fantasy Analysis

As FOX Sports analyst Joe Rogan correctly said on the broadcast, Rosa's inability to seriously threaten Burgos on the feet effectively made it impossible for him to win this fight. Despite actually winning the total strike battle by a count of 105-104, Rosa didn't land any particularly vicious strikes until right before the finish. Even then, Burgos ate it without incident and proceeded to return fire. Rosa also failed on all five of his takedown attempts. Rosa has now alternated wins and loses in his first five UFC contests.
Rosa defeated Kyle Bochniak via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night 81 on Sunday in Boston.

Fantasy Analysis

Bochniak put forth an outstanding effort, but the experience of Rosa eventually prevailed. Both fighters absorbed a ton of damage in this one, and Rosa's performance here didn't necessarily suggest that he's ready to face an elite contender in the featherweight division. Nonetheless, he's starting a new win streak after losing two of his last three bouts.
Rosa will face Jimy Hettes in a featherweight bout at UFC Fight Night in Boston on Jan.17, Hunter A. Homistek of MMA Fighting reports.

Fantasy Analysis

Rosa will get a chance to fight in his hometown in January, something that he hasn't got to do yet in UFC action. Although he's only 1-2, the tough Rosa has earned Fight of the Night honors in both, showing a lot of grittiness to fight all the way to the end.
Rosa lost to Yair Rodriguez via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC 188 on Saturday in Mexico City.

Fantasy Analysis

Rosa is as tough as they come. In what was a great fight, Rosa was battered and bruised and fought his tail off until the very end. He landed five takedowns, but he also lost the total strike battle by a count of 97-67. The American Top Team product simply couldn't match the pure athleticism of Rodriguez. Still, it was a heck of a fight and a solid performance for Rosa despite the loss
Rosa will enter Saturday's featherweight bout at UFC 188 in Mexico City as the favorite against Yair Rodriguez.

Fantasy Analysis

Rosa may not have the home crowd behind him, but he brings superior wrestling and a bit more experience than Rodriguez to the table. He's coming off an impressive victory over Sean Soriano by submission, which is typical of his style. Seven of his 11 professional fights have ended in this manner, and Rosa is undefeated in matches that have finished by submission. It should be a close and fast-paced fight, with the oddsmakers giving Rosa the edge.
