Gruetzemacher defeated Joe Lauzon via TKO (punches) at 5:00 of Round 2 at UFC 223 on Saturday in New York City.
ANALYSIS
Gruetzemacher had an impressive performance against Lauzon. He weathered an early storm against the veteran and came back in the second round. Gruetzemacher did his best work in the clinch. He closed the distance and landed hard hooks and elbows. He made a concerted effort to work the body, and it appeared to pay dividends. If anything, the referee could have stopped this fight earlier. He needed this victory, as he was only 1-2 in his previous three UFC fights.

Gruetzemacher lost to Davi Ramos via submission (rear-naked choke) at 0:50 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Fresno, Calif.
ANALYSIS
Gruetzemacher was always going to struggle on the ground in this fight. He did well defending in the first two rounds. However, he eventually fell in the third round via submission. Ramos appeared to get tired, and Gruetzemacher began to lead. He pushed forward with his striking, but he was not polished enough to take full advantage. After competing on the 22nd season of "The Ultimate Fighter" Gruetzemacher has gone 2-2 in the UFC.
