Hangs tough in decision loss
BantamweightUFC
August 31, 2019
Wu lost to Mizuki Inoue via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Shenzhen, China.
ANALYSIS
This fight wasn't as close as the scorecards would lead you to believe. Yes, Wu was competitive and showed well in what was a 15-minute kickboxing match, but it was pretty clear she came up short. Wu was the much more effective striker to the legs and body, but Inoue pounded her to the head early and often. The loss has to be disappointing for the 23-year-old in her home country, but she should be proud of her effort. Wu has now alternated wins and losses in her first three UFC bouts.
