Dominates to win eighth in a row

Pereira defeated Ihor Potieria via submission (guillotine choke) at 0:54 of Round 1 at UFC 301 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
With all due respect to Potieria and Makhmud Muradov, Pereira's originally scheduled opponent this evening, it's time for the Brazilian to get a signifiant step up in competition. He dropped Potieria with a jab before doing a crazy backflip on top of him and putting Ihor to sleep with a guillotine choke. All of which happened in the first 54 seconds of the fight. Michel has won eight straight including the last three via stoppage. He looks like a different man at 185 pounds. It's worth noting that Pereira was due to fight Stephen Thompson at UFC 291 last July and missed weight, forcing the cancellation. Perhaps the company will look to re-book those two at some point down the line.

Runs winning streak to seven

Pereira defeated Michal Oleksiejczuk via technical submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:01 of Round 1 at UFC 299 on Saturday in Miami.
ANALYSIS
Pereira began his evening by putting forth an awesome dance routine prior to his entrance, and Saturday he proceeded to put forth another dominant effort once the opening bell rang. Possessing unreal athleticism for a man his size, Pereira smashed Oleksiejczuk with a body kick and expertly took the back of his prone opponent, eventually choking him out. The finish would go on to win him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. The Brazilian has now won seven fights in a row and is without a defeat dating back to September 2020. A significant bump in competition should be forthcoming for Pereira. He deserves it.
