Charles Jourdain

Comes up short in UFC debut
May 18, 2019
Jourdain lost to Desmond Green via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Rochester, New York.
Considering he had less than a month to train for the fight and wasn't competing in his natural weight class, Jourdain showed reasonably well. He definitely dropped the first two rounds before looking better in the third and final frame. Jourdain displayed a bunch of power on the regional circuit, but it remains to be seen if he can compete against better competition. Given his willingness to accept this fight on short notice, Jourdain will definitely get another shot with the company. That would presumably be back at 145 pounds, where the 23-year-old prospect has a significantly higher ceiling.

To make debut in Rochester
April 25, 2019
Jourdain will make his UFC debut against Desmond Green in a lightweight matchup at UFC Rochester on May 18.
Jourdain is a 23-year-old Canadian prospect that is 9-1 as a professional, racking up the majority of his cage time under the banner of TKO MMA. All nine of the 5-9 lightweight's victories have been earned by way of stoppage, including three submissions. He'll get a big step up with the more experienced Green, who is 3-3 in the UFC, most recently picking up a first-round TKO victory over the now-retired Ross Pearson.
