Mustafaev (14-3-0) is no longer scheduled to take on Don Madge (8-3-1) in a lightweight fight Sept. 7 at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi after withdrawing from the event, Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Madge suggested in a since-deleted post on his personal Twitter account that a doping violation was the reason behind Mustafaev's withdrawal, but he later recanted those allegations. It's thus unknown why Mustafaev is electing to pull out of the Abu Dhabi card, but the UFC is apparently still looking to have Madge as part of the preliminary card. Expect the promotion to announce a short-notice replacement for Mustafaev in the coming days.

Mustafaev will take on Don Madge in a lightweight battle at UFC 242 on Sept. 7, Farah Hannoun of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mustafaev is 3-1 with the UFC, with his only loss coming against former title contender Kevin Lee all the way back in 2016. After a long layoff, he returned against Rafael Fiziev this past April and finished him via spinning back kick in the first round, winning a Performance of the Night bonus along the way. Madge is also fresh off a $50,000 bonus, but the 8-3 fighter has just one UFC victory under his belt. Mustafaev will be giving up four inches in height and an inch in reach to the South African prospect.

ANALYSIS
Mustafaev needed a less than two minutes to get back on the winning track. Fiziev had a lot trouble finding his range, while Mustafaev controlled the distance. After about a minute, he unleashed a spinning back kick that dropped Fiziev. He was clearly hurt, and Mustafaev threw strikes on the ground until he decided it was enough and walked away. He improves to 2-1 in the UFC and 14-3 overall as a professional.

Mustafaev defeated Joe Proctor via TKO (strikes) at 1:54 of Round 1 at UFC 194 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Mustafaev's power in the striking game is absolutely disturbing. He ran across the cage and unloaded with a huge kick to Proctor's body and and followed it with a couple punches and two vicious knees and just like that, referee Mark Smith had seen enough. To go along with his obvious power, Mustafaev also is a solid wrestler and has four career wins by submission. Who in the world would want to fight this guy?

Mustafaev will his enter his lightweight fight with Joe Proctor as a -360 favorite at UFC 194 on Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
ANALYSIS
Striking was Mustafaev's strong suit in his UFC debut against Piotr Hallman, and the Russian will promptly be challenged by another grappler in Joe Proctor. A Sambo specialist, Mustafaev isn't yet a complete MMA package, but likely possesses the raw tools to put Proctor away in his U.S. debut.
