MiddleweightUFC
July 15, 2019
Peter Sobotta (17-6-1) announced Monday via his personal Twitter account that he will face Di Chirico (12-3-0) in a middleweight bout at UFC Copenhagen on Sept. 28.
ANALYSIS
Di Chirico will face a quick turnaround for the fight after most recently entering the Octagon in late June, when he lost to Kevin Holland at UFC Greenville. Di Chirico had won his first two fights after signing with the UFC, defeating Oluwale Bamgbose in December 2017 and scoring a split-decision victory over Julian Marquez last July.

Drops close decision
MiddleweightUFC
June 22, 2019
Di Chirico lost to Kevin Holland via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night 154 in Greenville, South Carolina on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Di Chirico was able to land enough big shots and elbows in the clinch to win Round 2 after being outworked in the first frame, but failed to take advantage of the fairly obvious shoulder issue of his opponent, standing at range and once again allowing himself to be outworked in the final round. Di Chirico is a strong athlete who can do a little bit of everything, but he has yet to put his game together in such a way where he can progress up the rankings. He falls to 12-3 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.
Draws Kevin Holland in Greenville
MiddleweightUFC
May 1, 2019
Di Chirico (undisclosed) will take on Kevin Holland in a middleweight matchup at UFC Greenville on June 22, Jose Youngs of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It will be almost a year between fights by the time Di Chirico steps into the cage, as his previously-scheduled bout against Tom Breese was called off after Di Chirico suffered an undisclosed injury. Presumably healthy, he'll now turn to Holland, who will enter with big height and reach advantages, though he has just three UFC fights. It's a small sample size, but Holland has a slight edge in terms of both striking volume and striking accuracy.
Backs out of fight with Tom Breese

January 8, 2019
Di Chirico (12-2-0) revealed last week that he has withdrawn from his scheduled fight March 16 in London with Tom Breese (11-1-0) due to an apparent injury, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Di Chirico relayed the news in an Instagram post that showed him in a hospital bed, though he didn't elaborate on the nature of his injury. Per Peter Carroll of MMAFighting.com, Cezar Ferreira (13-7-0) is scheduled to replace Di Chirico on the UFC on ESPN+ 5 card.
Edges Julian Marquez on the main card of the TUF 27 Finale
MiddleweightUFC
July 6, 2018
Di Chirico defeated Julian Marquez via split decision (27-30, 29-28, 29-28) at the TUF 27 Finale on Friday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Some people might have some strong opinions about this decision. Di Chirico landed more strikes and mixed in his wrestling. However, Marquez landed some very hard strikes throughout the contest. It comes down to what the judges valued more. Di Chirico should be commended for surviving a share of power shots and continuing to come forward. Even though he was not able to hold his opponent down, he did well to control the pace with his wrestling.
Draws Marquez in TUF 27 Finale
MiddleweightUFC
May 2, 2018
Di Chirico will take on Julien Marquez in a middleweight matchup at the TUF 27 Finale card July 6 in Las Vegas, Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Di Chirico is 2-2 in four UFC bouts, most recently picking up a KO victory over the since-released Oluwale Bamgbose. He'll take on a Syndicate MMA product in Marquez that happens to be riding a five-fight winning streak after emerging victorious in his UFC debut. It will be a strong test for both men, though neither appear to be cracking the 185-pound rankings in the immediate future.
