Coming off a promising 2022 campaign at Double-A Amarillo, Barrosa essentially repeated that success in 2023 at Triple-A Reno, where he posted career-bests in OPS (.850), slugging (.456) and home runs (13). However, the 5-foot-5, 165-pound outfielder benefitted greatly from hitter-friendly environments. That power is not expected to follow him into the majors, but Barrosa does have innate skills that burnish his status as a prospect. Particularly, his speed, glove and discerning eye put him on a trajectory to MLB. The switch-hitting outfielder is also competent from both sides of the dish, which could be useful as a fourth outfielder. Long term, an everyday job in the Diamondbacks' organization may not be in the cards. Arizona's deep reservoir of outfield talent in the majors and pipeline may require a new home for Barrosa to shine. Read Past Outlooks
