PArizona Diamondbacks  A
June 13, 2017
The Diamondbacks have selected Tabor with the 82nd overall pick in the 2017 first-year player draft.
Even after adding some muscle and an inch to his now 6-foot-2, 165-pound frame over the past year, Tabor is still one of the slightest pitchers in this class. That added mass has allowed him to touch 96 mph with his fastball this spring in the Northeast, regularly sitting in the low-90s. His next best pitch is a changeup that could be an above-average offering in time. His slider lags behind as a fringe-average offering. There is some deception and funkiness in his delivery, but most evaluators project at least average command in time, thanks largely to his high-end athleticism. While he is physically projectable, Tabor will turn 19 in July, so he is not particularly young relative to the other prep arms in this draft.
