Smith officially officially transferred to Pepperdine on Wednesday.

The former Oregon Duck will have to sit out next year per NCAA transfer rules before regaining eligibility in the 2019-20 season. Smith had a minor role off the bench for the Ducks this past season, averaging 8.9 minutes over 35 games while putting up 1.9 points and 1.4 rebounds. He stands to play a much larger part in the Waves' rotation once he's cleared to play.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith announced on his personal Twitter account that he will transfer away from Oregon.

Smith was once again buried on the Ducks' depth chart for much of his sophomore campaign, averaging just 8.9 minutes on the season. As a result, Smith has opted to transfer and will likely look for a program with a quicker path to playing time. Due to the current NCAA transfer rules, Smith will now have to sit out the 2018-19 campaign with whatever team he joins next and will then have two years of eligibility remaining.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith (undisclosed) played eight minutes and recorded two points Sunday in the loss to Marquette.

Smith sat out Tuesday against Rider, but was healthy enough to take the court against Marquette. Oregon's NIT run will end after losing to the Golden Eagles, although the sophomore guard figures to return next season for the Ducks. Smith averaged just 1.9 points and 1.4 rebounds through 34 games during the 2017-2018 season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Tuesday's matchup with Rider, Steve Mims of The Register-Guard reports.

Smith did not practice on Monday and did not take part in team warmups ahead of Tuesday's NIT matchup. He will be questionable heading into the next round, should Oregon emerge victorious.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith will not practice Monday due to an undisclosed injury incurred during the Pac-12 tournament, Steve Mims of the Oregon Register Guard reports.

It's unclear how the injury cropped up, as well as how severe it is. Smith's status for Tuesday's game against Rider is still up in the air, but more information should come forth as tipoff approaches. Smith averaged 9.3 minutes per game during the Pac-12 tournament, amassing four points, one rebound, one steal and one block in the team's three contests.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith (undisclosed) returned to action Thursday but played just one minute off the bench against Utah.

The freshman had missed the previous two games with an undisclosed injury but was available to return against the Utes. However, with the Ducks mired in a tight game with the Utes, there weren't many minutes available to bench players beyond top reserves Chris Boucher and Casey Benson. It appears that Smith's role moving forward will largely depend on whether Oregon builds a sizable lead or not.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith (undisclosed) has returned to practice and could be available to play Thursday against Utah, Steve Mims of the Register-Guard reports.

The freshman has sat out each of the last two games due to an undisclosed issue, but it appears that a return is on the horizon. He is back practicing with the team and could be available as soon as Thursday. His return would give the Ducks some much-needed frontcourt depth considering that Dillon Brooks (foot) is considered a game-time decision. Smith is averaging 3.0 points and 0.8 rebounds per game in conference play.
