RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Nevada head coach Eric Musselman said that Stephens (ankle) "should play" in the Wolf Pack's opening-round NCAA tournament game Friday against Texas, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Stephens, who ranks fourth on the Wolf Pack in scoring, is the top perimeter threat on the roster, drilling 3.5 treys per contest at a superb 44.4 percent clip. The senior tweaked his ankle in Nevada's Mountain West Conference tournament loss to San Diego State on March 9 and was limited in practice earlier this week, but it sounds like he'll be able to gut it out Friday. Expect him to handle his usual 25-to-30-minute role.

Stephens (ankle) has been a limited participant in practice, but is expected to play Friday against Texas, Chris Murray of the Reno Gazette-Journal reports.

Stephens was forced to miss the second half of Friday's conference tournament loss to San Diego State but is on the road to recovery. Despite being limited in practice, the Wolf Pack expects him to play in their first game of the NCAA Tournament. Stephens has been one of Nevada's top shooters this season, averaging 3.5 three-point makes per game.

Stephens suffered a minor ankle injury in the second half of Friday's blowout loss to San Diego State, Chris Murray of the Reno Gazette-Journal reports.

Stephens scored two points on 1-for-5 shooting before sustaining the injury early in the second half and not returning to the game. The senior guard was held out as a precaution with the Wolf Pack pressing and already trailing 55-25 at halftime, and should be ready to go for Nevada's potential NCAA Tournament game next week.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Stephens will play through a thumb injury for the rest of the season, Chris Murray of the Reno Gazette Journal reports.

The Purdue transfer jammed his thumb against San Jose State this week and coach Eric Musselman did say that Stephens could require surgery at the end of the season. As of now, Stephens intends to play through it for the final three games of the regular season and the postseason tournaments that follow. Stephens has been a key part of Nevada's potential run to the NCAA Tournament, starting 28 games and averaging 13.8 points on 46.2 percent shooting. Sunday's game against Colorado State will give a glimpse into how Stephens is affected by the thumb issue.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Stephens has been granted a release from Purdue, Chris Forman of PurdueSports.com reports.

Stephens has been granted a release to explore the possibility of a transfer. He averaged 6.1 points, 1.3 rebounds, 0.9 assists, and 0.4 steals in 14 minutes per game during the 2015-16 season. There were multiple obstacles to overcome at Purdue for Stephens this season as he dealt with the death of a close friend and a finger injury. While Stephens could end up at a school with a better fit for his current situation, a door will remain open for him to return to Purdue for the 2016-17 season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Stephens (personal) recorded one rebound and one turnover in three minutes off the bench Tuesday against Michigan State.

The reserve wing saw his first minutes since Jan. 21 on Tuesday after missing four games due to a personal matter. He only played three minutes, well below his average on the season (15.2), but his minutes had become erratic before he sat out those four games. Stephens played 12, 23, nine, 16, and five minutes in his five games leading up to his absence. He does provide depth on the perimeter, but those wanting to use him in their lineups may want to wait until his playing time starts trending in the right direction again.
