2019 Tournament PreviewThe Aggies enter the NCAA Tournament on a tear, winning their last 19 games, including a pair of Quadrant 2 road wins against Grand Canyon and Utah Valley, as the WAC regular-season and tournament champions. Dominating the glass is a driving factor, as New Mexico State ranks eighth in offensive rebounding rate and fourth in defensive rebounding rate in the nation. Senior forward Eli Chuha (9.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg) and junior forward Ivan Aurrecoachea (9.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg) lead the way in that department, while junior Terrell Brown (11.3 ppg) shoots 42.3 percent from 3-point range in a balanced attack. Nine players see regular minutes for coach Chris Jans, so it's no surprise the Aggies lead the nation in KenPom's bench minutes metric. New Mexico State isn't simply happy to be here after earning its eighth tournament berth in the last 10 seasons. The 12-seeded Aggies pose a legitimate upset threat, but will first have to get through SEC tournament champions Auburn.
