Heat Hands Jazz Rare Loss, 124-116
The Miami Heat defeated the Utah Jazz, 124-116, at American Airlines Arena on Friday night.

The Heat (16-17) knew it faced a tall task in its quest to extend its winning streak to five games, with a red-hot Jazz (26-7) team in town and having prevailed in 11 of their previous 12 contests. Accordingly, Utah jumped out to a 30-26 lead through one quarter, but Miami served notice the visitors would be in for a battle by turning the tables and building a four-point lead by halftime. Defense went out the window during a third quarter in which the two clubs combined for 80 points and the visitors chipped two points from their deficit, but the hosts never relinquished the lead during the final period despite several surges from the Jazz.

Donovan Mitchell led the way for the Jazz with 30 points, complementing them with six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Bojan Bogdanovic supplied 17 points and two rebounds. Rudy Gobert generated a 15-point, 12-rebound double-double that also included one assist, two blocks and one steal. Mike Conley delivered 14 points, seven assists, two rebounds and two steals. Joe Ingles and Jordan Clarkson contributed matching 13-point, two-rebound tallies while dishing out three and four assists, respectively.

Jimmy Butler paced the Heat with 33 points, supplementing them with 10 rebounds, eight assists and one steal. Goran Dragic supplied 26 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Bam Adebayo compiled 19 points, 11 boards, seven assists, one steal and one block. Duncan Robinson turned in 15 points and six boards. Kendrick Nunn pitched in 12 points, four rebounds and one assist.

The Jazz remain on the road and make the short trip to face the Orlando Magic on Saturday night, while the Heat remain home and tangle with the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night.
